Are You Prepared For The New Year

3-dsc_2411.jpgby kyker

Another year is about to end and a new one will begin. We don't know what awaits us. There will be, no doubt, many challenges and many joys. With the state our Nation and the world is in, the challenges will surely be great. Are we prepared for whatever may come? How are we preparing for it? Many make resolutions trying to commit themselves to changing some part of their lives that they feel will be an improvement in themselves this coming year. These resolutions are notorious, though

Since we are all part of the human race, we have inherited the sin of the first individuals God created. Because of our sin nature, we are separated from a holy and perfect God and are in need of a way back to our creator, so that our sins can be forgiven and we can experience eternal life with Him in Heaven and live a life filled with His Holy Spirit while on earth. God sent his one and only son, to shed his blood and be crucified on the cross to pay for our sins and when we

How To Fix A Broken World

canv.jpg

by ron kyker

Here is the great question most Christians have today; how do we fix our broken world? The answer is not so simple or we would have already done it. It is not so clear because we are trying to do it in worldly ways. The answer is a biblical one. It is a spiritual one. The answer is simple and it is clear, but not to a people ignorant of how it is done. I am ignorant of many things, and how to fix our broken world, seems to have been beyond my understanding. It is for most Christi

"Sometimes, when you see how caring another woman's husband is, you may be tempted to poison your own."

This was a frightening statement from a woman in August 2014. I never expected a statement like this from her.

Why?

She is an attendee in her church programs. She appears as a Christian by all standards.

This woman became ill and her friend's husband, a medical practitioner took care of her. This man used to call her to know her state of her health regularly. She received o

Would You Serve God For Nothing

I listened to a sermon of a good Pastor friend of mine. He brought up a very good question that I think all who profess to know God should ask themselves often. Would we still serve God if we expected nothing from Him in return? He used Job as a good example. Job was innocent of doing anything to cause God to allow he had to be taken away. Job served and praised his God anyway. The Devil's argument to God was that Job served Him only because of all God had done for him. I wonder

The Bible: Can We Trust It?

Greetings to all;
Any successful ongoing study of God, or the discipline of Theology, should begin with a foundation, much like a contractor looking to build a house. The foundation must be strong enough to bear the weight of what is to be built upon it.
The Bible is the Word of God. Literally, it is God talking to all of us directly. It is the foundation of truth upon which the Christian faith rests. There is no more important or profound work of literature ever penned. In the H

Qualities Of A Godly Friend

Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."

Have you ever had a really good friend?

As I look back over the years of my life, I see how I've had different groups of friends at different seasons in my life. Do you ever notice the different roles friends play in your life? There are the "Facebook Friends". Some friends are the people you can be goofy with. Your conversations may not go deep, but you can enjoy time with one another just in playing games

I've had a few different careers during my working life, and they seem to have one important thing in common. Each required specific technical training and skills in order for one to become competent. Accordingly, by way of building technology and management, I finally ended up as a professional teacher, having gone to a teacher's training college and graduated with a distinction.

Sometimes you hear things, but they do not resonate, they don't hammer home their impact with

new study finds that following the Mediterranean diet could add about 4.5 years to your life. Researchers found that the diet, which focuses on fruits, veggies, whole grains, and olive oil, is good for our DNA, the New York Times reports. Nearly 4,700 women were followed for more than 20 years, and those whose diets were more similar to the Mediterranean diet had longer telomeres—protective structures found on the ends of chromosomes that “are often compared to the plastic caps that preven

I can think of three near-death experiences I had as a child. Oh, they weren't events during which I actually died and saw a bright light, or anything like that. They were the results of carelessness on my part and if God hadn't intervened I think I would have died. The first was when I was a small child, maybe six or seven years old, when I determined that I was going back in for a swim after all those who were with me were on their way back to the car. I stepped off a ledge in

Jesus, A Man Of Prayer

The news about Him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:15-16)

Jesus kept His priorities straight. He never let the demands upon His powers to heal, crowd out His need for prayer. I suppose His disciples thought that He was being extremely selfish in this matter. While Jesus was off praying, multitudes were suffering. Apparently, Jesus had this tremendous nee

Lecrae has never been afraid of being different. As the first artist to have a record top both the Gospel and Top 200 Charts, being different is kind of what Lecrae does.

In the visuals for his latest single “Say I Won’t” featuring Andy Mineo, the Anomaly artist enlists the help of two precocious kids to mimic both he and Mineo as they play video games, ride their bikes through the street and perfect their physique while doing push ups.

When did your life begin? Was it at the moment of your first breath after birth? Or was it earlier while in your mother's womb. I think we would have to agree that it really began before birth. Not only was our heart beating, but we were able to hear the voice of our mother.

For Jesus, life began long before He became a living being inside the womb of His mother, Mary. John tells us that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with Go

Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV)
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

We are always proud to say that we follow Jesus Christ. We show that by loving others and being concerned about their life Through our lives we try to show that we do what Jesus did and taught us. But we see at many times we simply ignore the main and most important part of being like Jesus. is, Forgiveness. Forgiveness means letting go.Forgiveness does not come easily. It comes through much hard work and perseverance.

It is easy to make excuses and blame others , and jus
