We meet again; instantaneously, we hug.

Why?

We’re family and happy to see each other!

The ladies in my Sunday school group gathered and a sense of love and compassion came over me.

Comparing the experience to a group hug seemed logical.

The Lord is an advocate of group worship and interaction.

We should seize every opportunity to fellowship with God’s children.

“.... but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with on

When We Need Another

Ecclesiastes 4:12 – “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.  And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Did you ever have one of those days?

Daily Devotional: Never Give Up

Welcome to today's encouragement. Today's reading titled never give up was written by Patricia Rabin. Time went by. War came in that's how Bishop Semi-Nego of the Kaliko people of south sudan described delays in his church's long struggle to get the Bible in their own language. Not one word in fact had ever been printed in the Calico language. Decades earlier Bishop Nego's grandfather had courageously started a bible translation project, but war and unrest kept halting the effort.

Yet, despite

Some of us take a lot of pride in who we are, the title we have, the position we are in, the amount of money we have blah blah blah. We love to make ourselves seem more important than everyone else. But in Romans 12:3-8 Yahweh, through the writing of  Paul is teaching us two key things.

  1. The first is found in verses 3 - 5. Think highly of yourself, but not too high.
  2. Use the gifts Yah gave you, found in verse 6-8

OK let's break this down starting with Romans 12:3 - 5. We are talking about humi

The Bible says a lot about entrepreneurship. So, if you're thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, take heed. This article covers some of what it says about launching, growing, and maintaining a successful enterprise.

What the Bible Says

  • Count the costs.
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you sit down first to estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it (Luke 14:28)? Simply put, count the cost before you launch. Know what it tak

According to Romans 12:1,2 - Christians are transformed (changed) by renewing their minds (cf. Eph. 4:23). To live differently, we have to think differently.

The first principle is the Principle of Dedication: Commit your body to God. Any change in any area of your life begins with your physical body. Why? Because your body affects your behavior, and every change in your life requires energy. The reason most people never change is that they are too tired to change.

If you want to change, you h

Everyone wants to be a great leader. Nowhere is that call more important than in the local church, where often the pastor is looked at to lead their church in inspiring and expectation-defying ways. Meanwhile, books on leadership tend to give broad advice that can be relatively difficult to apply in the local church setting.

We’re here to help.

Below is the best advice from CT Pastors on leading your church well. Whether you’re trying to raise up new leaders, lead into your strengths, or cast

5 Ways We Can Lead People Better

better-leader.jpg

by Ed Stetzer

Being a leader is tiring. When I was pastoring in Buffalo in the early 90s, I was responsible for EVERYTHING. You name it, I did it:

Make the bulletins. Check.

Visit the hospitals and sick. Check.

Preach the message. Check.

Lead worship. Check. (I am still apologizing to Jack Hayford for my rendition of Majesty.)

Looking back, I am reminded that effective leadership is not in all the responsibilities or tasks we have, but rather in how well we develop the processes needed to ac

independence-day

The Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, and announced the separation of the thirteen American colonies from Great Britain. With this, a new nation was formed—the United States of America. History verifies Thomas Jefferson as the composer of the original draft. Once completed, Jefferson submitted his draft to Benjamin Franklin and John Adams for their changes. Eventually, it made its final destination to Congress where it was amended for the last

I’d like to honor the single Christian woman who is working late tonight instead of being taken out to dinner. (But, please keep reading even if that’s not you. If you’ve ever been disappointed with God, I hope this encourages you, too.)

The longing for family

A 38-year-old, single Christian friend of mine told me recently that she got a promotion. The only problem, she said, is that she’d rather be a stay-at-home mom, “packing school lunches.”

This isn’t someone who’s simply dreaming about th

AND HE GAVE SOME TO BE MOTHERS: MOTHERHOOD AS MINISTRY

Motherhood as ministry is not limited to personal spiritual growth. The biblical definition of ministry, as communicated by the Apostle Paul, is rooted in the growth and health of the body of Christ: “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body

Mother's Influence

However they really should understanding that at some point we all technically had a mother or we would not be here today; even Jesus had a mother. When I think about the impact my own mother has had on my life I have to be thankful for all she sacrificed for me and my brothers growing up. More than eight in 10 Americans admit that they have some level of concern that the morality in America is declining, a new survey by LifeWay Research shows.

The Nashville-based Christian polling group’s survey, released Tuesday, found that 81 percent of Americans either agree or strongly agree with the statement: “I am concerned about declining moral behavior in our nation.”

Forty-six percent of respondents said they “strongly agree” with that statement, while 35 percent said they “agree.”

Many Christians are turning to apps and memes to express their faith instead of churches – and it’s raising intriguing questions about the future of the world’s largest religion.
