I recently had the privilege to have a great conversation with a 95-year-old man who was full of energy, passion and enthusiasm for life like something I have never seen before. What surprised me the most about this man was his age combined with his youthful passion and eagerness to make each day a masterpiece.

Roughly 10 minutes into the conversation, I asked the man, “How do you do it? How do you stay full of energy, passion and enthusiasm at your age? I don’t mean to sound rude or anythi

The Bible: Can We Trust It?

Greetings to all;
Any successful ongoing study of God, or the discipline of Theology, should begin with a foundation, much like a contractor looking to build a house. The foundation must be strong enough to bear the weight of what is to be built upon it.
The Bible is the Word of God. Literally, it is God talking to all of us directly. It is the foundation of truth upon which the Christian faith rests. There is no more important or profound work of literature ever penned. In the H

new study finds that following the Mediterranean diet could add about 4.5 years to your life. Researchers found that the diet, which focuses on fruits, veggies, whole grains, and olive oil, is good for our DNA, the New York Times reports. Nearly 4,700 women were followed for more than 20 years, and those whose diets were more similar to the Mediterranean diet had longer telomeres—protective structures found on the ends of chromosomes that “are often compared to the plastic caps that preven

When did your life begin? Was it at the moment of your first breath after birth? Or was it earlier while in your mother's womb. I think we would have to agree that it really began before birth. Not only was our heart beating, but we were able to hear the voice of our mother.

For Jesus, life began long before He became a living being inside the womb of His mother, Mary. John tells us that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with Go

Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV)
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Bible Reading vs. Bible Study

30349745bible_reading_man200x133.jpg?width=200First, recognize that Bible reading and Bible study are both important, but different. In order to grow, you need to read the Bible every day as part of your time with God -- your devotions or Quiet Time. During this daily time with God I recommend prayer, wide Bible reading, praise, thanksgiving, confession, and meditation -- these are ways to reach out to God with your spirit. Bible reading is one way of letting God refresh your spirit and

SEEKING TRUE HUMILITY

SEEKING TRUE HUMILITY

Psalm 145:14, The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down.

The secret in serving God is to remain humble in times of great success or in failure. Being honest and admit to God from your heart that without Him you are nothing. That is true humility. When we fall we tend to think we are so bad that God cannot forgive us. That is false humility. True humility will acknowledge our successes, failures, lowliness and our complete dependence

During His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ taught His disciples, at their request, how to pray. The ALL KNOWING Lord included the following words in His teaching,
"Our Father in heaven... ,
Give us this day Our Daily Bread". Matthew 6:11.

These words are worthy of serious considerations. It is a very rich and highly profitable statement. It demonstrates the deeper love the Lord has for His people.

It is also a way to express His good thoughts towards man. Now, let us conside

I have come to the conclusion, and to be frank I am not too bothered if you do not agree with me, that the only thing we can absolutely agree on is that we are eternally disagreeable.

Whatever I say or do, or even think or believe, there are those who will jump to oppose, to argue against or to repudiate; even when they have no real basis for doing so.

Let us be absolutely honest and admit that people have acquired a tendency, a relish, a passion to tear down rather than to

Stage One Of A Lasting Relationship

One area of God's work that suffers serious attacks is marriage. The home is the target of the regular and consistent enemy of man, the Devil. He knows fully that if a marriage fails, all members of that home are his potential disciples. They can easily fall prey to his antics.

Every serious minded fellow craves a lasting home but are not aware of many things involved to achieve this. So, let us consider the first of the three stages of every marriage. Note that each stage demand's different ac

Satan is Both Powerful and Powerless

hand-to-heaven.jpg

by Gregory John Monroe

We Christians acknowledge that Satan rules the world's culture. It is his influence that is causing strife, immorality, and the devaluing of life. In 2 Corinthians 4: 4, he is even referred to as the (small "g") god of this world that blindfolds the minds of unbelievers to the light of the gospel.

He has had and exercised world dominion ever since it was turned over to him by Adam when Adam sinned. This is evident in Luke 4: 6 when Satan takes Jesus to a high mountai

WRONG NOTION 1: THE PRINCIPLES OF CHURCH GROWTH ARE DIFFERENT EVERYWHERE PRINCIPLES INVOLVE GENERAL RULES FOR EVERYONE.

Biblical principles don't change, but methods can change.
For example, Jesus healed the sick with the same principle of faith, but different methods.
It may amaze us that if Jesus wanted to ministered to 3 blind people on the 3 different occasions, he may tell the first, "Go and sin no more." Then he put his hand in the eyes of the second and command: "Be ope

A couple months ago I surprised everyone by announcing a brand new album, “Rise.” You don’t understand how hard it was to keep quiet about it before my label and I went public. The album had been in the works for over a year, and I couldn’t wait to tell everyone — especially those who kept asking when I was dropping something new.

The response so far has been deeply encouraging. I’m amazed that people have continued to support me even though I’ve been pretty quiet for the last two

A Guide to True Beauty

The Proverbs 31:10-31 woman is a model of a woman who lives a godly life. It is practical advice given by a mother to her single son about what to look for in a future wife. Therefore, it is advice for single women as well as married women. I was single for over twenty years of my adult life. Now I am married so I might be able to offer insights for both single and married women.

Most of all, this idyllic icon is a woman who decides to learn and grow in all the areas of her life. She protects
