Daily Devotional: Counterattack

by PamFord Davis

Wile E. Coyote cartoons bring laughter into our lives. He has lots of schemes but he can’t outwit the Road Runner. Wile E. might have been influenced by the whiles of the devil. Those tactics and traps are real.

Beware; Satan is persistent and he’s a master of disguise.

“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14 NKJV).”

Dress for success.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil

Jesus’ ministry comprised of many things. There was salvation, transformation, deliverance, healing and many more. One of the key ministry of Jesus was the miraculous. The miraculous are things that do not make sense to the normal man but it works. Through the scriptures, we see God do many strange things. This mystery of the miraculous is an advantage for the people in the kingdom of God. It is to show that God is indeed the creator of the world and He sustains the ability to do all He wants to

2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Now I know the Holy Spirit had not yet been universally poured out when the woman with the issue of blood touched the edge of Jesus’ tunic but I like to think she knew the healing power Jesus commanded came from the Almighty. Jesus had a reputation as a healer and preached the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit, who is God, had come upon him at his b

Daily Devotional: Will We Surrender?

by PamFord Davis

WWJD?

What would Jesus do?

WWJD was more than an abbreviation or fad; it was a serious question to ask ourselves.

What would He do, (if in the same situations and circumstances we experience)?

‘In His Steps-WWJD’ was a book written by Charles Monroe Sheldon and first published in 1896.

Today, we continue to ponder the question… What ‘would’ Jesus do?

He would submit to His heavenly Father.

WWFD?

What would Father do?

“My Father is working until n

Daily Devotional: Endearing Name

by PamFord Davis

“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba, Father (Galatians 4:6 HCSB)!”

Da-da and Daddy are often a child’s first words.

It seals the relationship between father and child.

The bond is unbreakable between God the Father and God the Son.

Jesus was an obedient Son; He pleased the Father.

“After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him,and He saw the Spirit of God de

Daily Devotional: It's Contagious

by PamFord Davis

I love watching excited young children; their joy is contagious and I gladly get exposed.

They smile, laugh, clap their hands and jump up and down. Sometimes they even twirl around in circles until they get dizzy.

Joy is not only for the young.

“Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which

Daily Devotional: Stand Firm

by PamFord Davis

“When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ Then He said, ‘Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground (Exodus 3:4-5 NASB).”

God was preparing Moses for a mighty work. He stood on holy God.

But the LORD…

“But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him (Habakkuk 2:20 NASB).”

“Saul and the men of Israel gathered and camped in the Valley of Elah; then they lined up in battle formation to face the Philistines.

The Philistines were standing on one hill, and the Israelites were standing on another hill with a ravine between them. Then a champion named Goliath, from Gath, came out from the Philistine camp. He was nine feet,

I’m serious when it comes to food temperature; I like my hot foods HOT. There’s something else I like; that’s soup. It just might be at the top of my comfort foods list. Today, I got what I like.

An area church held an association missions meeting. I was pleased to find a variety of crock pot soups at the luncheon and chose hearty vegetable. It was piping hot. In my haste to eat and rush home, I ate too fast.

As much as I enjoyed the soup, I didn’t like burning my tongue

"Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10

The words 'be still' were written in the context of a time of war; therefore, we should consider the verse with that context in mind. The English interpretation of to 'be still' is to "cease striving, or stop struggling."

To stop struggling is to learn to let go of that which we as a human cannot ‘fix’, resolve or remedy; confessing our helplessness. We then place our belief in God, who is faithful to fulfill all his promise

Daily Devotional: Before and After

by PamFord Davis

Before and after pictures are frequently used in weight loss advertisements. Our eyes are quickly drawn to the images when we see a drastic change and improvement.

There were no cameras at Legion’s transformation; yet, there were eye witnesses.

In the strange events of life, it is impossible to visualize or picture what the next 'thing' or even what the next moment will bring.

There is no pandemic, no doubting, no behavior, no questioning, no mistake, no regret, and nothing that will ever keep us from the love of God. The harsh adversities we experienced in the past, now or in the future, will never remove God's love.

As unexpected circumstances crash into our now, and we find ourselves in dark places, feeling

“Amplified Bible John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation, distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]”

So many places in the Bible speak of peace, this means that if peace is important to us, it is of even more importance to God. But, this perfect peace the Bible speaks of seems only to be

Daily Devotional: White Gold

by PamFord Davis

It’s not Jed Clampett’s Texas tea (oil). It was once called white gold. King Cotton was one of the leading exports in early 1800’s America. Rural Northeast Louisiana has produced high amounts of cotton; now most farmers plant corn and soybeans. Yet, I do see some beautiful cotton fields. My husband and passed a bumper crop yesterday.

Hats off to farmers who plant the seeds!

"We know that all things work together for good, for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose?" Romans 8:28 NRSV

Believers, you, I, and we are personally and intricately loved by God whose holiness grasps hold of each human being. It is the pursuit of divine love who is orchestrating all events, all circumstances, and all challenges, inviting each one nearer to his passion.

The ‘things’ that occur can be ones allowed, consequences from poor choices, an

Ladies, does this situation sound familiar?

You’ve been invited to attend a party or preparing to celebrate a special occasion. After looking through your full clothes closet, you talk to yourself.

Two disciples…

One betrayed the Lord.

“And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, ‘Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.’  Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, ‘Greetings, Rabbi!’ and kissed Him (Matthew 26:47-49 NKJV.”

Guilt overwhelmed Judas.

“Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had

Waiting is not one of the things humans are used to. No one likes to wait; especially when the results of other people can be seen. Another reason why waiting seems so difficult is because most people do not know what to do during this period. They then begin to feel their life is on hold. In today’s devotional, we will talk on the topic “The other side of waiting; testimony of God’s faithfulness in hard times”

• It’s hard to keep waiting when it seems everyone else is ahead of you. What we fa

who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the lifegate that all may go in.
