Psalm 23

"Jesus is my Shepherd; I shall not want. Jesus makes me lie down in green pastures: Jesus leads me beside the still waters. Jesus restores my soul: Jesus leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Jesus is with me; Jesus' rod and His staff comfort me. Jesus prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Jesus anoints my head with oil; my cup runs

“In contrast to the wise woman, the foolish woman is not content to be a keeper at home. She is not satisfied with where God has put her. One of the things the feminist movement has done so successfully is to stir up discontent in women with being homemakers and to convince them that other pursuits can increase their sense of self-worth… Fueling discontent and pushing women out of their homes in search of greater meaning and satisfaction has resulted in off-the-chart stress levels for many

Daily Devotional: What a Find

Many accuse Christ followers and evangelicals of being narrow minded. In a way, thats true. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:13-14 NASB).

Daily Devotional: What a Find

by PamFord Davis

I have a terrible sense of direction.

I’m easily confused; especially in new places. The problem goes beyond highways and interstates; I have a hard time finding our table in a restaurant when returning from the ladies room.

Do I turn right or left? I wonder if a GPS would help.

Is there help for the confused?

Oh no, this town has one-way streets.

Help!

I know one thing; there is only one way to God.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no

“Just a minute! You can’t forget the crowning jewel of all – contentment! This jewel adds luster to your crown. This jewel releases your husband from bondage and pressure. Sadly, it is often a missing jewel. It’s easy to be content when you have everything you want. But can you learn to be content when you don’t have everything you want? Can you be content with what your husband provides for you? I am always challenged by Psalm 128:3 TLB where it talks about the “contented” wife in the h

Daily Devotional: A Secret

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless (Ephesians 5:25-27 NASB).

Daily Devotional: New is Nice

by PamFord Davis

Countless people succumb to new car fever.

Others dream of moving into a new apartment or house. I was happy when my sister Donna had her new apartment experience. Her name was on the list of prospective tenants as the building was still in construction.

Donna was one of the first to move in. Not long ago, friend Nancy had the same advantage at her assisted living apartment. New is nice.

I guess I’m weird; I like new ordinary things.

I like to open new boxes of tea, ca

“Adorn your crown with amethysts of admiration, affection, affirmation, approval, appreciation and attentiveness.”

– NANCY CAMPBELL

Proverbs 12:4: “A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.”

Pulpit Commentary on Proverbs 12:4: “She that maketh ashamed; “that doeth shamefully” (Proverbs 10:5Proverbs 19:26); one who is a terrible contrast to the woman of strong character – weak, indolent, immodest, wasteful. Is as rottenness in

The truth is God's favor will change your life and everything in it, and I declare that everything in your life is breaking in your favor. That struggle, that problem, that difficulty is over now, because the Lord's favor is upon you hallelujah! Now many christians believe that they have to somehow earn the favor of God, but the truth is we already have his favor. God saved us because of his favor towards us. Ephesians 2:8 tells us

for by grace you have been saved through faith and that not o

Some days, it may seem hard to even get out of bed. Hopelessness, fear, doubt, discouragement, self-pity and more may attack your mind and emotions. But by the grace of God, you can overcome these and rise up to the best life ever (John 10:10)!  Jesus, God's loving Son, will help you overcome!

…For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that ha
