Not everyone will be happy with your blessings and promotion. Learn to keep your mouth shut.
The adverse danger of talking too much is that you do not know who is happy or unhappy with the news you are sharing. A bitter truth is, not everyone is happy with your blessing, not everyone is happy with your progress. While some people are just jealous, envious and toxic wanting no good for their neighbors, some other persons just have not mastered how to deal with other people’s success without the

Daily Devotional: Purposeful Prayer

By PamFord Davis

Before calling men to follow in His steps, Jesus prayed with passion. It started by calling out to God with purposeful prayer.

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles: Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; Ja

Daily Devotional: A Public Example

by PamFord Davis

No one likes to be made a public example for bad behavior.

My husband Norm has often shared a story from his school years. Students were talking amongst themselves in the school auditorium. They were chatting when they should have been listening to a presentation by the school principal. Annoyed, the principal looked out among the crowd; he pointed to my husband and told him to come up to the platform.

Norm just happened to be wearing a bright red shirt that day. He stoo

More and more the celebrations of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day blend together.

Why not add Veteran’s Day to the mix?

We recently returned from Branson, Missouri. There, city leaders, residents and tourists show their appreciation to members of the armed services, veterans and their families. Patriots are asked to stand in concerts and shows as audiences give them a round of applause.

This year’s Brett Family Christmas Show includes a Patriotic tribute title

We live in a society where worth and value is measured by our possessions, position, and power. So many women struggle against the strain of trying to keep up and compare themselves to other women who seem to have it all. As women, we feel we are not worthy and valuable when what we do would be looked-down by most of society, hence the all too familiar game of comparison and feelings of being unworthy crouch upon us.

Jesus’ ministry comprised of many things. There was salvation, transformation, deliverance, healing and many more. One of the key ministry of Jesus was the miraculous. The miraculous are things that do not make sense to the normal man but it works. Through the scriptures, we see God do many strange things. This mystery of the miraculous is an advantage for the people in the kingdom of God. It is to show that God is indeed the creator of the world and He sustains the ability to do all He wants to

2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Now I know the Holy Spirit had not yet been universally poured out when the woman with the issue of blood touched the edge of Jesus’ tunic but I like to think she knew the healing power Jesus commanded came from the Almighty. Jesus had a reputation as a healer and preached the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit, who is God, had come upon him at his b

WWJD?

What would Jesus do?

WWJD was more than an abbreviation or fad; it was a serious question to ask ourselves.

What would He do, (if in the same situations and circumstances we experience)?

‘In His Steps-WWJD’ was a book written by Charles Monroe Sheldon and first published in 1896.

Today, we continue to ponder the question… What ‘would’ Jesus do?

He would submit to His heavenly Father.

WWFD?

What would Father do?

“My Father is working until n

“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba, Father (Galatians 4:6 HCSB)!”

Da-da and Daddy are often a child’s first words.

The bond is unbreakable between God the Father and God the Son.

Daily Devotional: It's Contagious

I love watching excited young children; their joy is contagious and I gladly get exposed.

They smile, laugh, clap their hands and jump up and down. Sometimes they even twirl around in circles until they get dizzy.

Joy is not only for the young.

“Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which

“When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ Then He said, ‘Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground (Exodus 3:4-5 NASB).”

God was preparing Moses for a mighty work. He stood on holy God.

But the LORD…

“But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him (Habakkuk 2:20 NASB).”

What is a passionate Christian woman? Well, she's not a woman who's perfect, peerless or guiltless, but as human as you and me. A passionate Christian woman simply has a passion for the things of God and is driven to do something about it.
This woman thirsts for God. God is the driving force of her existence, the meaning behind her life. She doesn't live primarily for the latest fads, fashions, or fancies, but for God. She cares little for fame or fortune, recognition or

How’s the weather up there?

At 5 feet tall, I’ve never been asked that question.

At  9’ 9” Goliath blocked the winds.

“Saul and the men of Israel gathered and camped in the Valley of Elah; then they lined up in battle formation to face the Philistines.

The Philistines were standing on one hill, and the Israelites were standing on another hill with a ravine between them. Then a champion named Goliath, from Gath, came out from the Philistine camp. He was nine feet,

Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”

Jesus says, "Come to Me...Take my yoke upon you." In this verse of Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come unto him, take his yoke upon them, and learn of him, in short, to follow Him. Once you become saved and born again, the Bible te

I’m serious when it comes to food temperature; I like my hot foods HOT. There’s something else I like; that’s soup. It just might be at the top of my comfort foods list. Today, I got what I like.

An area church held an association missions meeting. I was pleased to find a variety of crock pot soups at the luncheon and chose hearty vegetable. It was piping hot. In my haste to eat and rush home, I ate too fast.

As much as I enjoyed the soup, I didn’t like burning my tongue

When you are blessed, things become easy for you to do. You will hear testimonies all over. If you are poor, you receive financial breakthrough. If you are weak, you receive strength, If you are sick, you receive healing in your body. One thing that you should know about God is that He is good all the time. That means that His nature is goodness. There is no time He will want to do evil to you. His blessings are like rain. His love is unconditional. The Bible says that God so loved the world tha

Society and media can sometimes convey underlying messages to us that may cause us to question our identity. Such subliminal messages can present ideas for us to strive to be someone or something else.  For example, beauty advertisements can be one-sided when they base their views on skin color, size, shape, hair, or style.  Often, beauty is defined by “society’s standards.”

Although marketing is known to just market products, at the same time, the messages go be
