Motorola Nexus

The title got you intrigued? You’re not the only one, same goes for me as well. Many people would like for something like this to come to fruition. Motorola is allegedly working on yet another device we didn’t know about, as you know Moto X+1 is expected to launch soon, this summer in fact.

According to Android Police’s information, Motorola is working on a next Nexus device codenamed “Shamu”. So, here’s the gist. The device is allegedly going to sport a 5.9″ device which is kind of fishy and I

The Galaxy S series has been a huge success for Samsung, tallying more 200 million units sold, according to company president and CEO JK Shin. Samsung expects those numbers to rise with the Galaxy S5, the latest iteration of the flagship phone, unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday.

The Galaxy S5 retains some of what has made its predecessors so popular. Most notably, it looks almost identical to the S4, just slightly larger, measuring 5.1 in

According to a recent report by The Verge, Nokia has an Android device nearly ready for consumer release.

What’s interesting is that Nokia has forked Android, similar to how Amazon uses it, to create a customized operating system. The move gives more control over the experience, differentiating it from other Android devices, while still allowing most Android apps to work on the device.

android kitkatWe have been hearing a lot about Android 4.4 KitKat although until now only a few features here and there have been mentioned. There is an Italian blog called TuttoAndroid that seems to have gotten their hands on a Google Nexus 5 running the new Android OS. With the rumored release of the 4.4 KitKat OS in just a few days we finally have a decent sized list of features to show you.

New Features in Android 4.4 KitKat:

android-4

The folks over at 9to5Google have just posted a couple of screenshots of what they believe to be pictures of a redesigned phone and messaging app, probably coming in Android 4.4. We’ve seen in the past that Google has been moving towards a lighter theme. A good example of that is the Google Play Store and Google Now. We know Android 4.4 is due to be announced in October, and we’ve already seen what we thought was a leak about new icons. Not really new, but instead of blue, they are now gray.

This is a phone that we don’t normally get to review. We normally get high-end or mid-range phones, all of which are sold by the carriers, with the exception of the Nexus 4. But BLU has a line of phones that seem to be kinda successful. A few weeks ago we talked about their new Dash line of phones, which start at just $40, unsubsidized. Yep, you heard me right. $40 unlocked, with a contract. Not bad right? There are a few things I want to say before we jump into this review. When you buy a p

Beats by Dre Studio 2013 can audio port

Just as things started to look up for HTC – it has a major star promoting the company in a new ad campaign, the HTC One has just launched on Verizon, and we’re expecting the HTC One Maxsoon – so a new rumor reminds us the company is still struggling. The news comes from a report published by the Wall Street Journal, where it’s suggested the partnership between it and Beats by Dr. Dre could be coming to an end.

Apparently, the founders of Beats Electronics want to buy out HTC’s remaining

Sony Xperia Z Ultra review the best phone you'll probably never buy

What we’re about to describe is the same kind of phenomenon we experienced with 5-inch phones in 2010. If you recall, that year marked the debut of the Dell Streak 5, an absolutely massive smartphone / tablet hybrid for that time. Fast-forward to 2013, when 5-inch screens are the norm and 6.44-inch displays are now considered too unwieldy. Such is the case with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which borrows many traits from the smaller Xperia Z while taking on a flatter shape. Basically, Sony turned th

ASUS MeMo Pad HD 7 review: a budget tablet that punches above its weight

To some extent, ASUS is a victim of its own success: it gave the budget tablet category a boost with the original Nexus 7, and it now faces a legion of competitors in that space. The company is taking a two-step approach to maintaining its relevance. The new Nexus 7 tackles the higher end, with top-tier specs that include a 1080p display and wireless charging. Right now, though, we’re more interested in ASUS’ low-end solution, the MeMo Pad HD 7. While it’s one of the cheaper name-brand tablets

Best Buy leaked it early and then Google finally made it official: the second generation Nexus 7 is here. The 7-inch Android tablet to beat got some upgraded specs and the newest version of Android, 4.3. It’s thinner, lighter, and more drool-worthy. Will it make the iPad Mini nervous?

The Nexus 7 keeps the 7-inch display of its predecessor rather than adding a few fractions of an inch as other tablets have done recently. Instead, Google upped the pixel density by adding a full

Samsung recently released the Galaxy S4 Mini, which is a cheaper and smaller version of its popular Galaxy S4 model.

These days, picking out a smartphone is almost like trying on shoes. Does a four-inch, four-and-a-half-inch, or five-inch screen fit best?
For years, the trend in major smartphone brands' screen sizes had been the bigger, the better. Whether it was the iPhone 5's extra row of apps or the giant, tablet-sized Android "phablets," phones had definitely been getting larger.

Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly insisted Facebook is not working on a phone. No way.
"[A] Facebook phone doesn't make sense," Zuckerberg said in an interview last fall. Hereiterated the point again this past January: "We're not going to build a phone."
End of story? Not even close.
Facebook might not be building a phone -- designing hardware from scratch, manufacturing handsets and putting them on shelves. But the social network's invitation to an April 4 press conference, at which Facebook pro

Samsung Galaxy S4 Launch

So what’s it like? Well, it’s almost exactly what we expected. Samsung has upped the screen size from the Galaxy S3, giving the Galaxy S4 a 4.99-inch display with a 1080p

Galaxy S4 Leak

With less than ten days to go until Samsung’s Galaxy S4 launch event, you can bet the phone will remain in the news right until the last moment, by way of both official Samsung promotions (like the follow-up to its awful teaser video) and through leaks such as the latest from @evleaks.

The often reliable @evleaks Twitter account has published a supposed picture of the Galaxy S4 along with a few spec details; which although interesting, doesn’t mention the two most
