Samsung just wrapped up its first unpacked event of the year and it happened weeks earlier than anybody could have expected, but no reason to complain because that means we have the galaxy s21 series.

Let's get into everything samsung announced and my first impressions of the phones. Samsung did the right thing right off the top. They cut the prices on the s20 line by two hundred dollars. That means we go to eight hundred dollars for the base model up to a thousand for the s21 plus and 1200 fo

A bold new look, substantial upgrades to the camera, and a stunning screen. The Pixel 4 is fighting for your attention, and it’s increasingly looking like it deserves it. I spent some time with the phone at Google’s hardware event in New York City, and here’s what it’s like.

Dawn of a new design

The Pixel 4 looks like no other Pixel phone before it. That’s because the d

Huawei’s Mate 20 X is a gaming and media tablet masquerading as a massive smartphone, and it does a pretty good job of it.

Better late than never, as the old saying goes. The Mate 20 X was among the most interesting Mate 20 phones, but it never really saw the light of day outside of a few Southeast Asian countries. Not until recently, that is.

The Mate 20 X has now launched in a few European markets and while the chances are that the P30 is already around the corner, the Mat

A few years back, LG for Mobile World Congress showed off one of the wildest devices I had ever seen. With a bit of finagling, you could pop off the bottom of the G5's body and swap it out with a camera controller or a high-quality audio DAC. The idea didn't last long, but it spoke to the kinds of risks the company was willing to take to build (what seemed to it, at least) like a winner.

I bring up the G5 now, years later, because it was ambitious and interesting in a way most smartphon

ZTE AXON 7 REVIEW

ZTE’s Axon 7 is the flagship killer to buy

Just what constitutes a “flagship killer”? There isn’t a dictionary definition, but the term typically refers to phones with high-end hardware at prices that challenge the status quo. The OnePlus 3 meets that loose definition, as does LeEco’s Le Pro 3 and Oppo’s F1 Plus. All retail for far less than the $650+ Apple iPhone 7Samsung Galaxy S7LG V20, and Google Pixel Phones, but match — and in some cases surpass — th

The Fall is often an interesting time for smartphone releases, as some of the biggest names in the industry out their latest and greatest to end the year on a high, but this hasn’t gone to plan for a lot of names out there, particularly Samsung. Over the past few editions of this list, the Galaxy Note 7 has popped in and popped out, but now has been well and truly discontinued. For those that are still hanging on to one, return it. As for the rest of the Android world, the LG V20 and Pixel h

Google guns for the big boys with the spec-stacked Pixel

Look out, Apple! Google’s Pixel phones represent the very best of Android with solid specs and sharp software.

Google’s poorly-kept secret, the Pixel and Pixel XL, are here. The pair are the first smartphones to be marketed as “made by Google,” which feels a little misleading considering HTC is still the manufacturer.

Google announced the Pixel and Pixel XL at a heavily-advertised event in San Francisco. The

Unlock-Cell-Phones.jpg

Your two-year contract is finally up, and you want to save some money by bringing your phone to a carrier with lower monthly costs. Unfortunately, odds are that your phone is carrier locked, which prevents you from jumping ship and using your phone on another network. Thankfully, some carriers could already unlock your phone voluntarily, but the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act, which was signed into law early last month, set the unlock requirement in stone.

Don’t start looking for any connection between the new Huawei Ascend Mate 7’s name and previous Huawei hardware, because there really isn’t one. Yes we’ve seen Mate series phones before, but the last one was the Mate 2. Think the number 7 relates to the screen size? Think again — it measures 6 inches. Go figure.

But wait, what’s that? You read right: The Ascend Mate 7 has an enormous 6-inch display.

It makes the phone a bit of a monster, but it’s nowhere near the size it could have been

During Samsung’s Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 press conference in Berlin, we expected the company to officially announce the Galaxy Note 4. While it did just that, Samsung also announced another entry in the Note series: the Note Edge. While the Galaxy Note 4 looks to continue the smartphone/tablet hybrid tradition of the Note series, the Note Edge looks to shake things up a bit with its curved display. Let’s take a closer look at both devices, starting with the

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Alpha, a phone it describes as having a “new design approach,” separating it from previous entries into the Galaxy smartphone range.

Updated on 08-13-2014 by Andy Boxall: Added in early pricing information.

It’s the first Samsung Galaxy phone to feature a metal frame, but from the pictures, it appears the back is covered in the same soft-touch, perforated material used on the Galaxy S5. The design is certainly eye-catching, thank

According to Android Police’s information, Motorola is working on a next Nexus device codenamed “Shamu”. So, here’s the gist. The device is allegedly going to sport a 5.9″ device which is kind of fishy and I

Amazon launched its Fire Phone smartphone at an event in Seattle Wednesday.

Amazon entered the smartphone business Wednesday — and made a big splash doing it.

At an event in Seattle, the retail giant unveiled the Fire Phone, a high-end, 3-D smartphone. It is the first smartphone Amazon has produced on its own.

“Can we build a better phone for our most engaged customers?” asked Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at the event. “Can we build a better phone for Amazon Prime members? Well, I’m excited to tell
