Different strokes for different folks…

Like ‘Green Acres’ Lisa Douglas, many choose life in a big city. In contrast, others identify with her husband Oliver; he had always dreamed of living on his own farm.

Some crave high priced restaurant cuisine; while most are satisfied with home cooked meals, pizza or burgers.

World travelers circle the globe with stops at popular tourist sites. Some would rather stay at home; prop up their feet and read about places near and far.

Every king has a protocol, and the LORD God certainly does! Although He is so gracious as to receive us any time, anywhere when we are His children by our faith in the shed blood of Jesus on the cross (John 3:14-17Romans 10:9-10), there is still a right way to approach Him when making certain types of prayers

First of all, our God is a postive, joyful God! Yes, He is the Righteous Judge of all, and He is first our Father Who delights in us! He loves praise and peace and joy

Today’s topic is something really interesting but much more, it contains numerous lessons to be learned by everyone. This message isn’t something you should listen to with a divided attention or with partial focus, it requires your full attention. I’ll like to start with a very common scripture in the Bible , Jeremiah 29: 11;

plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Now, many believers know that God has a plan and a purpose for their lives, that God has a

It’s too good to be true.

That’s beyond my wildest dreams.

You’ve got to be kidding.

Are you putting me on?

Who do you think you’re trying to fool?

Are you serious?

We’ve all heard things that just seemed too good to be true. There were two good explanations; either what we were being told was an outright lie or there were string attached.

I trust the scriptures; God’s word is true.

Praise the LORD; He is ready, willing and able!

“Now to Him who is able to do far

Jesus called Peter to discipleship.

“And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ They immediately left their nets and followed Him (Matthew 4:18-22 NKJV).”

Jesus posed a serious question to His disciples. Who did they think He was?

“Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son

Daily Devotional: Got Your Back

by PamFord Davis

He’s got your back.

“Then the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them (Exodus 14:19 NASB).”

An old popular song comes to mind; ‘Someone to Watch Over Me.’

Ira Gershwin and Howard Dietz penned the lyrics to this 1926 standard. Isn’t that everyone’s desire?

We yearn for security and protection; we hope someone’s got our backs.

Trust God; He has!

Two men, different diagnosis…

“Now He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector (Luke 18:9-10 NASB).”

Daily Devotional: Perfect Example

(Yawn)…

Good morning!

What?

You say you’re not a morning person?

I understand. I used to sleep till noon; now I’m up before 4am.

I like early mornings.

Many find that morning is the best time of their day.

“In the morning, Lord, You will hear my voice;

In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch (Psalm 5:3 NASB).”

JESUS set the perfect example.

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary pl

Life As A Proverbs 31 Woman

by Kathie Thomas

Throughout 2006 I decided to do a study on Proverbs 31 via a blog. It was partly an exercise to practice using the software and I'd always wanted to explore this book in greater details so combining the two seemed an ideal way to do it. I had no idea that the blog would end up being a very popular one which still draws in thousands of visitors every month a year after I began writing it.

During the course of doing this study it became clear to me

Exodus 3:1-4 “Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian.  And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.  And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of the bush.  So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.  Then Moses said, ‘I will now turn aside and see this great site, why the bush does not burn.’  So when the Lord s

Warmer weather is coming and camping is on our ‘to do’ list.

We usually stay at state parks; most are very nice and with senior discounts we stay at bargain rates. My husband and I are not hiking enthusiasts but most parks do offer hiking trails.

Maybe you know someone who has hiked the Appalachian Trail. I read that it runs from Georgia to Maine and measures at 2100 hundred miles. (Wikipedia)

The Exodus of Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land was reported to be ov

Daily Devotional: Three Sons

by PamFord Davis

I grew up with three boys.

No, they were not at home or my brothers; they were actors who starred in ‘My Three Sons.’

I was only 11 when the show premiered in 1960. At 23, I was a wife and mother by the time ‘My Three Sons’ ended in 1972.

The three sons of Fred MacMurray (in the role of Steve Douglas) were like extended family.

Sadly, fans have lost 2 of the 3 sons. Don Grady (in the role of Robbie) died at the age of 68 of cancer. You might remember that he began as one o

When We Need Another

Ecclesiastes 4:12 – “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.  And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Did you ever have one of those days?

Love comes differently for everyone. And what works for one person might not work for someone else. In our society, it’s really harder for a woman to like a man. This is because, a man is supposed to approach a woman. Most women then have to bottle up their feelings because they don’t know the right way to channel it. Some even feel guilty for liking a man and this people are mostly Christians. In our video today, we will talk about ‘biblical things a woman should do when she likes a man’.

This has to be one of the hardest things to do.
Just when you feel like you can ignore the thoughts of things going wrong, then you are asked to give it up to God? Hmmm… But really, admitting that you are hurt and letting God know so He can heal you has to be the best thing one can do for themselves.
The beautiful part is that, you are not admitting to man, but to God.

Let us lay down some basics on this issue before we move further, So, what can get you hurt? The death of a loved one. A j

A lot of people often wonder how women should be and how they should behave especially as wives. Throughout the cause of history, the role of women has been seen and debated through different lens. And most of these views are on the extreme that it puts up women daily for criticism. Thankfully though, we have a manual called the Word of God that we can use to know God’s own standard. In today’s topic, we’d be talking on the “Proverbs 31 woman”. I pray that the eyes of your understanding become e
