How To Eat To Live Part 1 By Prince Malachi
I believe the Bible is the manual for life. It teaches how we treat others, how to be a good citizen and a good spouse. I also believe in teaching how to live a long healthy life with less disease and illness. Yeah, I know. The Bible is…
ContinueWe Don't Eat Enough Fruit And Vegetables
The next level up on the pyramid is the largest part. That means this is what we should be eating the most of every day! This group contains fruit, beans, nuts, and vegetables. The United States Department of Agriculture recommends that we all eat at least 5 to 13 half-cup servings of vegetables and fruit A day. And one should be raw. These foods contain important nutrients like vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, essential fatty acids, and amino acids. The recommended amount is the least we need to live, think clearly, be energized, heal wounds, grow, and so on.
Oils, And Daily
The next stage is olive oil. Notice olive oil is the only oil you see on this whole pyramid. That means it’s the main fat or oil that should be used. It’s high in monounsaturated fatty acids. That's a good fat that helps fight the bad fat aka cholesterol that sticks to your arteries and causes disease. The next section on the pyramid is dairy. This is mainly cheese and yogurt. Cheese and yogurt are easier to digest than milk because they are already partially broken down. I’m not saying we should not drink milk, I know I drink a lot, cheese and yogurt are just a little better. They are also great ways to get small amounts of protein every day.
Why We Should Be Eating More Fish
The next level up is fish Fish is the main protein in the Mediterranean diet. It’s pretty much-eaten every day. It’s rich in protein but low in saturated fats. It is also rich in omega - 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Research proves omega 3’s lower both the LDL cholesterol and triglyceride in the blood. The other health benefits of fish are...
- it has been shown to thin blood
- it protects arteries from damage
- it helps fight the formation of blood clots
- it lowers bad cholesterol known as LDL
- it lowers blood pressure
- it lowers triglycerides
- it lowers the risk of strokes and heart attack
- it reduces the risk of lupus
- it fights inflammation
- it helps fight kidney disease
- it helps ease rheumatoid arthritis
And so much more
It’s best to eat Broiled and baked but grilled is cool too.
