Two of Christian hip-hop’s favorite public figures won at the 2015 BET Awards, which took place on June 28 in Los Angeles. Lecrae won Best Gospel Artist and Stephen Curry won Sportsman of the Year.

Lecrae is the first rapper to win in the Best Gospel Artist category. He beat out Mali Music, Erica Campbell, Deitrick Haddon, Fred Hammond, and Michelle Williams for the award.

Four record labels courted the versatile artist after his departure from Collision Records, according to his management, Tom Drawer. Three of those labels were mainstream.

V.Rose, HillaryJane, Jasmine Le'Shea and DJ KB of the Indiana Pacers will set out this fall on the Rapzilla-sponsored Queens United Tour, what they're calling the first all-female tour affiliated with Christian hip hop. 

Tour stops will not only include a concert, but also workshops on "issues affecting Biblical womanhood," a press release read. The crew will be joined by a special guest at each stop, including Natalie Lauren, Shy Speaks, Latoria, Angie Rose, Sicily and Charlene Nash.
