After months of little to no communication, the Dallas Cowboys met with the agent of Dak Prescott on Wednesday. Despite it being a positive sign in contract talks, Jerry Jones opened up about the details of the meeting with Prescott’s agent.

“DON’T MAKE ANYTHING OF THAT, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER,” COWBOYS OWNER JERRY JONES SAID THURSDAY, VIA MICHAEL GEHLKEN OF THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS. “THAT’S NOT WHAT COUNTS. [WHAT COUNTS IS] WHEN YOU DECIDE IT’S TIME TO MAKE IT WORK.”

Jerry Jones, owner of the red-hot Cowboys, unexpectedly hit it big with rookie Dak Prescott in the fourth round but still has an expected soft spot for deposed long-time starter Tony Romo.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily News in his midtown Manhattan hotel room Thursday afternoon, Jones made two predictions:

— There’s going to be a situation where Romo steps in and helps Dallas in its

Romo Linked to Multiple Teams

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Sunday morning that when the Cowboys try to trade Romo in the offseason, "he'll have significant say" on his destination, with the Denver Broncos reportedly being a landing spot of interest for the veteran quarterback

When Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he believes Tony Romo will quarterback a Super Bowl team and has another five years to play, it sure sounds like’s trying to build up some trade value.

Because to figure out what the Cowboys could get for Romo — whose emotional concession speech to star rookie Dak Prescott was “not a goodbye,” Jones told reporters Thursday — you have to start by considering the conversation that would take place elsewhere.

“Imagine me going to (the owner) and saying, ‘

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Jerry Jones has made his share of mistakes, from firing Jimmy Johnson to hiring Greg Hardy to committing countless unforced errors in between. He cannot make another one at Dak Prescott's expense. He cannot do anything during the Dallas Cowboys' upcoming bye week but tell Tony Romothat his time as starting quarterback is done.

At the top, understand that Romo has never been a great quarterback. People throw around that word -- great -- way too easily now. He has been a go

Dak Prescott walked up to the podium, but even the thick glass separating fans from reporters couldn’t mute the roar of cheers.

Can the Dallas Cowboys ignore those cheers?

Another surgical performance from rookie quarterback Dak Prescott prompts that uncomfortable question.

The Cowboys will soon be fac

In the span of two games, Eddie Lacy went from coach Mike McCarthy's doghouse for a curfew violation to being a focal point again for the Green Bay Packers.

At just the right time, too, since Lacy's bullish running style seems well suited for bad weather in December.

Dez Bryant will be on the field opening day for theDallas Cowboys. Expect him at training camp, too.

Bryant agreed to a five-year, $70 million contract with $45 million guaranteed, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports’ Jarrett Bell. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because Bryant had not yet signed the deal.

Wednesday was the deadline for players with the franchise tag to sign multi-year deal.

The $14 million annual average makes Bryant the league’s second

The Texas city has been in the news of late because a man in Dallas has become the first person in the United States with a confirmed Ebola virus diagnosis.

TMZ caught up with Giants co-owner Steve Tisch, and in a video posted on the website on Thursday morning a reporter asked the executive if he’s concerned about Big Blue playing in Dallas.

“I think the Cowboys are going to get it first,” Tisch said jokingly. “S

One of the biggest questions of the off-season was answered Tuesday as the Dallas Cowboys have reportedly released All-Pro defensive end DeMarcus Ware, according to an NFL.com report.

If he remained with Dallas, Ware, 31, was scheduled to count $16 million against the salary cap in 2014. The league announced late last week the salary ceiling for the upcoming season is $133 million.

Speculation about Ware’s future with the Cowboys has been ongoing for the better part of the season thanks to his

Tony Romo was sick, and it wasn't because he had just watched the Oakland Raiders return a fumble for a touchdown on the opening kickoff.

After the Dallas quarterback caught a virus the night before Thanksgiving, his top two running backs were there to help out.
DeMarco Murray ran for three touchdowns, backup Lance Dunbar led Dallas with a career-high 82 yards rushing and the Cowboys overcame the shock of Oakland's early score to beat the Raiders 31-24 Thursday.
Romo still did his part. He
