‘We Only Kill Black People:’ Georgia Cop Fired
Police authorities launched an internal investigation of the veteran officer after a dash cam video emerged of his racially charged remarks.
The video shows Lt. Greg Abbott of the Cobb County (Georgia) Police Department asking a woman to pick up her phone during a DUI stop. The woman said she’s afraid to put her hands down because she’s “seen too many videos of cops.”
“But you’re not Black,” Abbott says on video. “Remember we only shoot Black people. Yeah. We kill Black people right?” Read More Here

It was just a matter of time. President Trump’s obsession with undoing progress achieved under President Obama turned to the plan to add some color to U.S. currency.
The Washington Post reports that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday said he will not commit to Obama’s plan of putting an image of slavery abolitionist Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.

The idea behind We Live As Kings (WLAK), a group project that features all the artist signed to Collision Records, Swoope, Christon Gray, Alex Faith and Dre Murray, is more than a Hip Hop group. It’s a culture and a way of life according to Swoop. It’s a culture to live here on earth, manage it while reflecting the image of Yahweh. Men nowadays would rather be a goon, then the King they were called to be. As Christians we are co-heirs with Christ, called not to be served, but coming to serve. This is just an album review, so it’s no the place for me to get deep but, this is the message that the artists from Collision Records is trying to get across.

Reflection Music Group and Deraj announce the Goodish EP, releasing September 15, 2017. Often times in hip hop, sonic trends dictate the course of popular music, so it's always refreshing when an artist emerges with his own distinct style and point of view. The multi-talented Deraj has played by his own rules, offering his listeners a diverse musical palette that unabashedly spans alternative, hip-hop, trap, pop and future bass. His empowering messages and passionate delivery are consistently relatable as they tackle everyday struggles, faith and triumph. "I always want people to be able to feel encouraged that they are not the only ones that may be dealing with the internal dialogue about life struggles," he says. "I want people to feel like my story is their story." |
As Tropical Storm Harvey continued to batter Houston and other parts of southeast Texas with record amounts of rain Sunday, and with the catastrophic flooding in the region expected to worsen in the coming days, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt shared a message of support.
As many Houston businesses close down amid widespread flooding, one local businessman has opened his furniture stores as shelter to hundreds of displaced Texans.
Jim McIngvale, who goes by the nickname “Mattress Mack,” put calls out on social media on Sunday for people displaced by the effects of Hurricane Harvey to take refuge at either of his two Gallery Furniture stores.

The megachurch led by Joel Osteen is receiving people who need shelter and also helping evacuees with supplies such as baby food, formula and other shelter needs, the church announced via Twitter Tuesday morning.
Lakewood Church was under fire after apparently not opening up the church to flood victims. The church disputed online criticism, stating “we are prepared to shelter people once the cities and county shelters reach capacity.”
“Victoria and I care deeply about our fellow Houstonians. Lakewood’s doors are open and we are receiving anyone who needs shelter,” Osteen tweeted Tuesday, referencing his wife who is also Lakewood’s co-pastor.
