Gratitude and praise are not just words that we say or sing, they are attitudes of the heart that reflect our relationship with God. When we are grateful and praise God for who He is and what He has done for us, we are acknowledging His goodness, faithfulness, and love. We are also aligning ourselves with His will and His purpose for our lives.
Gratitude and praise are also weapons that we can use to fight against the enemy's attacks. The Bible says in Psalm 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of His people. That means when we praise God, He is present with us, and His presence brings joy, peace, strength, and victory. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of God, so when we praise God, we are pushing back the darkness and inviting the light.
So how can we practice gratitude and praise in our daily lives? Here are some practical tips:
🟣 Start your day with a prayer of thanksgiving. Thank God for waking you up, for giving you breath, for providing for your needs, for protecting you from harm, for saving you by grace, and for anything else that comes to your mind.
🟣 Keep a gratitude journal. Write down at least three things that you are grateful for every day. They can be big or small, but try to be specific and sincere. Review your journal regularly and see how God has blessed you.
🟣 Listen to praise music. Fill your ears and your heart with songs that glorify God and celebrate His goodness. Sing along or dance if you feel like it. Let the music lift your spirit and inspire you.
🟣 Praise God throughout the day. Whenever you see something beautiful, hear something encouraging, feel something positive, or experience something wonderful, give God the glory. Praise Him for His creation, His provision, His guidance, His presence, and His promises.
🟣 Share your gratitude and praise with others. Tell someone what you are thankful for today. Text a friend a praise report. Post a testimonial on social media. Encourage someone else with a scripture or a song. Let your gratitude and praise be contagious.
Sisters, I hope this message has blessed you today. Remember, gratitude and praise are not only pleasing to God, but also beneficial to you. They will help you start your day with God and keep you focused on Him throughout the day. They will also fill you with joy, peace, strength, and victory in every situation.
