Bill Cosby is thanking his supporters following his formal arraignment on one charge of aggravated indecent assault on Wednesday. 

The 78-year-old comedian took to Twitter with a simple message on Thursday.

“Friends and fans, Thank You,” he wrote.

The tweet marks the first time Cosby has spoken out since he’s been charged. Previously, he had retweeted a video about his countersuit against several of his accusers for defamation on Dec. 15.

On Friday, Bill Cosby was deposed for 7½ hours at an undisclosed location in Boston, attorney Gloria Allred said at a news conference Saturday. 

But the lawyer’s not done yet: Allred, who represents accuser Judy Huth, would like to depose him a second time, she said in a statement provided to PEOPLE.

“We’ll be filing motions with the court in connection with the deposition,” Allred said. “We’ll also be seeking to take a further deposition of Mr. Cosby at a later date.

Bill Cosby’s lawyers are still attempting to control any further damage to their client’s career by requesting that a judge keep details of settlements sealed.

Cosby attorney Patrick O’Connor blasted the New York Times for revealing the 2005 transcript that detailed Cosby’s use of drugs to lure young women. O’Connor believes that the transcript should not have been made public.
