What is "Spiritual Warfare?" In general, spiritual warfare is the "conflict" betwen good and evil. It is the ongoing battle between two diametrically opposed kingdoms: God's and Satan's.
We all, no matter who we are, how much money we have, how much education we have, where we live, how religious we are - we all deal with spiritual warfare.
We are in spiritual warfare in our homes, in our relationships, our marriages, in our churches, we are surrounded by spiritual warfare.
If you are a Christian, you are in a state of war. When you give your life to Christ you join a war already in progress. A war that started in the Garden of Eden, when Satan talked Eve into rebelling against God, and have been going on ever since.
Genesis 2:9b; 3:5 - The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 3:5 - For God knows that the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.
The operative words here are "good and evil." We are in a conflict of good and evil. There was only supposed to be "good", but now we have both, "good and evil." And because of that we have spiritual warfare.
We are in a spiritual war. A war with the adversary, the devil, in the form of "demonic spirits." When you are dealing with spiritual warfare, you are dealing with "demonic or evil spirits."
Satan uses these demonic spirits to go after you through your family, your spouse, your children, your co-workers; with Job, he used his wife. Satan will cause your family member to mess up - act-up just to distract you, by pulling your attention away from God onto that person he's using.
Although unseen by the natural eye, this adversary is not imaginary nor a mythological character. Satan the devil is a real person, a spirit being, with intelligence, tangible characteristics, and whose incessant goal and ambition is to "steal kill and destroy."
The enemy is on the prowl around the clock, seeking to cause mayhem and destruction to all believers. With military-like strategy and ruthless hostility, the devil aggressively searches for weakness in our faith and spiritual life, hoping to devour us with deception, temptation, or oppression. He is the personification of all that is evil and the author of every despicable work.
Regardless of whether you realize it or not, Satan has targeted you as a victim. He knows your name and address, your strengths and weaknesses. He desperately hopes that you will, as so many Christians do, remain ignorant of his reality so that you'll blame his assults on somebody or something else.
His method of operation is always undercover. He manipulates hindering circumstances and inspires evil thoughts or temptations. He will always seek to divert attention and blame for his actions upon others, but make no mistake about it, he is the real enemy not your husband, wife, employer, government or Christian brethren!
Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age; against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.
I declare war on Satan and all of his diabolical tactics!! It is time to shut the door on Satan - declare war on him, stop letting him run roughshod over you. Satan has no rightful authority over you.
When Jesus gave His life on the cross He redeemed us from Satan's power and dominion over us.
So, it's time for us to declare war on Satan. it's time to stand our ground against Satan! It's time to stop running from Satan and stand toe to toe with him and fight him tooth and nail, like David did with Goliath; we have authority and dominion over him, he does not have it over us.
I don't know about you, but I am ready to declare war on Satan and win this war in spiritual warfare. God is now raising up a people who will take a stand against the devil and let him know he cannot have our homes, our children, our families, our society.
