The Jameis Winston era is about to begin this fall in Tampa Bay, and Winston seems to have made a positive first impression on his new teammates. During an appearance on Sirius XM radio, veteran receiver Louis Murphy lauded Winston’s competitive spirit and compared him to Eagles backup Tim Tebow.

“He competes. He doesn’t like losing. He wants to win and that’s a guy I want to play with. He’s young, kind of similar to Tim Tebow in a way, he just wants to win. He’ll do anything it takes to win. But he’s young, everyone makes mistakes … I’m just really excited to be with a guy who is really passionate about playing this game.”

Murphy, who has played six seasons in the NFL and caught two touchdowns for the Bucs last year, won two BCS national championships at Florida with Tebow.
