T-Mobile Galaxy Note confirmed with 4.0 ICS and S3 dual-core processor

Today the folks from T-Mobile have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3-inch phone tablet hybrid will be gracing their networks in the coming weeks. T-Mobile actually confirmed this earlier today with a post on Twitter, but now have officially released the full statement and press release. We didn’t learn much, but you can rule out an upgraded processor.

Being so late to the game many thought T-Mobile might release the Galaxy Note with an upgraded 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 processor that powers the Galaxy S III and the HTC One X, but that isn’t the case. We can confirm the same older 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm S3 dual-core processor as the AT&T model is unde…

IRON-MAN-3-comic-con-international-panel.jpg

Warning: Spoilers for "Iron Man 3" follow. Here's a big shocker: The footage of "Iron Man 3" shown at Comic-Con today was high-flyin' and hilarious. We knew it would be, even with the trilogy now in the hands of Shane Black instead of Jon Favreau (who's in the film and gamely appeared at the panel today!) and visions of "The Avengers" still dancing in our heads.
In addition to proving that Robert Downey Jr. hasn't lost a step--in fact, he's gained a few, as evidenced by the cocky dance sequence in which Tony Stark tries out some new armor -- the footage also answered a few questions.
First off, Ben Kingsley is indeed playing the supervillainous, robe-rocking Mandarin and Stephanie Szostak (Paul Rudd's girlfriend in Dinner for Schmucks) has joined the cast as a character TBA.
Also in the footage, Stark's seaside mansion is thoroughly demolished by an airborne firing squad and every bit of armor in his workroom is blown to bits. Meaning, our hero must start from scratch (though billionaire superhero's scratch is different from regular people's scratch), somewhat reminding us of the predicament a forlorn Bruce Wayne is facing at the beginning of "The Dark Knight Rises."
We have a feeling that Iron Man -- with a little help from his friends--will rise again, too. (Whether or not the same guy is wearing the suit is up to Downey, who said he's come to the end of his contract, which attached him to the two Iron Man sequels and The Avengers. Think he'll want a raise?)
"Iron Man 3" hits theaters March 3, 2013.

President Barack Obama says Washington "feels as broken as it did four years ago," when he took office.
He says he's most frustrated by the inability "to change the atmosphere" in the nation's capital "to reflect the decency and common sense of ordinary people" who want their leaders to solve problems.
"There's enough blame to go around for that," he told CBS' "Sunday Morning."
CBS' Charlie Rose interviewed the president and first lady Michelle Obama at the White House on Thursday and has aired parts of the conversation on different network shows since then.
Reflecting on more than 3 1/2 years in office, Obama said, "I think there's no doubt that I underestimated the degree to which in this town politics trump problem solving."
On a lighter note, he said the White House will be a quieter place this summer because his daughters, 11-year-old Sasha and 14-year-old Malia, will be in sleep-away camp for a month. The president, meanwhile, will be campaigning for re-election, spending lots of time outside Washington.
"We're going to be experiencing the first stages of-empty nest syndrome," he said. Asked if he's prepared for that, the president said, "Well, I get a little depressed."
The first lady said the Obamas will find a way for "family time, because any time the girls are out of school, that's important time for us to spend as a family. We're still parents where you have to juggle your time around when they're free and summer time is that time."
In a separate interview, taped Friday and released Sunday, the 50-year-old president said the food and unfamiliar mattresses are downsides of the campaign trail.
"When you're on the road, you end up eating a lot of stuff that tastes really good at the time but later on in the day can catch up with you, and I'm now getting to the age where being in my own bed as opposed to some other bed, is not always great for my back," he told WJLA-TV in Washington.
Obama also revealed, when asked what voters don't know about him, that he "can cook a really mean chili," though his wife will claim that "I haven't cooked it for about 10 years, so I really shouldn't get too much credit for it."
And one more: "I'm a surprisingly good pool player, so if you ever see me in a pool hall, don't just think that you can ..."
"Don't walk up and throw down money is what you're saying?" interviewer Scott Thurman asked.
"That's what I'm saying," the president said. "I might end up cleaning your clock. That's a possibility."
The president also described himself as "a pretty good doodler" of faces, people and other things.
"Sometimes when I'm in a big important international meeting and you see me writings stuff down it might be that I'm just drawing some folks," he said.

jeremy-lin-new-york-knicks-vs-miami-heat-GAME-FIVE.jpg

This would have been such an obvious decision in February.
Jeremy Lin was Kobe Bryant's equal on the court and at the souvenir stand during a mesmerizing stretch that Commissioner David Stern said he had "never quite seen anything like."
No way the New York Knicks were letting Lin get away back then, when he was the biggest thing in basketball.
Things are different now.
Lin no longer plays for a coach whose offense seems designed for him. He's coming off knee surgery and would come at a monstrous cost - thanks to an offer sheet from the Houston Rockets he signed - even for one of the league's richest teams.
So what once would have been an easy answer now creates so many questions.
Do the Knicks want Lin back?
Does Lin want to come back?
When will it be resolved?
The last one should be easiest, but this being the Knicks, isn't exactly. Teams have three days to match an offer sheet for their restricted free agents, so the Rockets believe the clock expires at 11:59 EDT on Tuesday night.
Except the Knicks have never confirmed if they received the offer sheet from the Rockets on Saturday, so it's possible they have a different deadline in mind, which could even lead to some kind of dispute or protest.
The contract is for three years and about $25 million, an enormous figure for someone who has made 25 starts. After paying Lin about $5 million per year the first two seasons, it balloons to nearly $15 million in the final year but would cost the Knicks more than twice that in luxury tax payments under the harsher penalties in the new collective bargaining agreement.
The terms of the original offer Lin had agreed to were four years and about $28 million, creating speculation that he went back to the Rockets and asked for something that would be tougher for the Knicks to match.
A number of fans want them to do it anyway, more than 5,000 signing an online petition at Change.org asking the Knicks to keep him. Team officials, who repeatedly said they intended to keep Lin before he signed the offer, won't comment on their plans now.
Maybe the Knicks could have avoided this by making Lin an offer right away. Instead they let him find one elsewhere first, which is what many teams do with restricted free agents.
Given his popularity in New York and all the opportunities it affords, it's difficult to imagine he'd want to sabotage his own chances of returning. Yet maybe he doesn't see the same potential for himself under Mike Woodson as he showed in Mike D'Antoni's pick-and-roll offense. Or perhaps he's one of the many who sees the futility of the Carmelo Anthony-Amare Stoudemire pairing and doesn't want the burden of being the point guard charged with making it work.
And maybe the Knicks don't believe he is, anyway. They made a veteran point guard a top priority in free agency, missing out on Steve Nash but signing Jason Kidd. Then they agreed to a sign-and-trade with Portland to bring back Raymond Felton to New York in deal that was expected to be completed Monday.
None brings the marketing potential of Lin, whose story of undrafted Harvard graduate to unexpected NBA star was a hit around the world. (How many other players went into free agency with "Time" magazine list of top 100 most influential people on their resume?)
That gives Houston plenty of reason to want him back. The NBA's first American-born player of Chinese or Taiwanese decent would continue to grow the popularity the Rockets already enjoy in Asia thanks to their retired star, Yao Ming.
The Rockets had Lin on their roster during the preseason before waiving him, with two point guards ahead of him on the depth chart and an open roster spot needed to add a big man.
It wasn't long before they wished they'd done differently, general manager Daryl Morey writing on Twitter during Lin's dazzling stretch, when he averaged 24.6 points and 9.2 assists in 10 games from Feb. 4-20, that cutting Lin was a mistake.
Now it's up to the Knicks. Keep Linsanity where it was born or risk the same regret.

a5e095ee-0013-4f9e-9563-6db8e1b5c5b3-small.jpgYahoo is hiring longtime Google executive Marissa Mayer to be its next CEO, the fifth in five years as the company struggles to rebound from financial malaise and internal turmoil.
Pictured: In this Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, file photo, Marissa Mayer, VP of Search Products and User Experience for Google, speaks in Mountain View, Calif.

Mayer, who starts at Yahoo Inc. on Tuesday, was one of Google's earliest employees and was most recently responsible for its mapping, local and location services. Mayer, 37, began her career at Google in 1999 after getting her master's degree at Stanford, the school Google's co-founders attended.
Ross Levinsohn has been running the company on an interim basis and was thought to be the leading candidate after Hulu CEO Jason Kilar dropped out from consideration. Levinsohn filled in after Scott Thompson lost his job two months ago in a flap over misinformation on his official biography.
Fred Amoroso, Yahoo's chairman, says the board was drawn to Mayer's "unparalleled track record in technology, design, and product execution."
Yahoo's website remains among the most popular destinations on the Internet with 700 million monthly visitors, but the company has struggled to turn those visits into ad revenue growth. Yahoo's decline has been exacerbated by the success of Internet search leader Google Inc. and social networking leader Facebook Inc.
Levinsohn, 48, who once ran Internet services at News Corp., made a positive impression by closing a long-delayed deal to sell part of its stake in Alibaba Group, one of China's most successful Internet companies. He also negotiated a truce with Facebook, averting a legal fight over patent rights that threatened to poison Yahoo's partnerships with the social network.

cain-and-abel-movie-WILL-SMITH.jpg
Will Smith is reportedly considering a film about Biblical brothers Cain and Abel for his directorial debut.
The project has been in the pipeline under the working title of The Redemption Of Cain for some time and Deadline reports it has been confirmed as a directing vehicle for Will, who is expected to star in the film as well.
In the Bible, Cain and Abel are both sons of Adam, but when Abel is shown more favour by God, Cain becomes jealous and kills his brother.
Will has been a producer on all of his most recent films and has been looking to get into directing for some time.
If he does sign up to Cain and Abel it will not be his next project. Emma Thompson and Jay-Z have written a modern version of Annie for Will's daughter Willow to star in, which he will be producing.
Biblical stories are currently hot property in Hollywood.
Darren Aronofsky is about to begin work on Noah with Russell Crowe, and directors Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott both have Moses projects in the pipeline.

It's your move, New York Knicks.
Jeremy Lin has signed a three-year offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, according to a source close to the talks. The deal is worth a little more than $25 million -- $5 million in the first year, $5.225 million in the second year and $14.8 million in the third year. The Knicks have three days to match the Rockets' offer.
Initial reports had the Rockets offering Lin a four-year deal for around $28 million. That deal included salaries of more than $9 million in each of the last two years, which would be a big hit on the Knicks' cap. Still, the organization seemed intent on matching.
"They will match any offer on Lin up to $1 billion," a source told ESPN.com's Marc Stein last week.
It's not clear, however, if the new deal changes that thinking since the third year of the current deal carries an even bigger cap hit.
Houston had a verbal agreement with Lin before the team emerged as a serious suitor for Dwight Howard. The Rockets will use the amnesty clause on forward Luis Scola, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein, creating salary-cap space to take on bad contracts from the Orlando Magic. But the Lin offer sheet and an identical offer to Bulls center Omer Asik complicate the financial details of any trade with Orlando.

rev-fred-luter-jr-SBC-2012.jpg
Fred Luter and Barack Obama share historical distinctions as African Americans' first Southern Baptist Convention and U.S. presidents, respectively, but on the major political-moral issue of gay marriage they are on opposite sides - a disagreement driven by Luter's commitment to the Bible.
"I believe that nothing, nothing can be politically right if it's biblically wrong," Luter said July 10 in an interview with Florida Baptist Witness.
"The Word of God says marriage is between one man and one woman," Luter said, adding that "no president, no governor, no mayor, no politician, no individual can change that fact."
In light of the Bible's teaching on marriage, Luter said he is "totally against" Obama's support of gay marriage.
Luter sat down for a 30-minute interview with the Witness while in Tampa to preach at two Florida Baptist churches. In addition to Obama's gay marriage position, Luter talked about a congratulatory phone call from President Obama, the state of race relations in the Southern Baptist Convention, his goals as SBC president, Calvinism, and the recent death of his mother.
The Tampa events were Luter's first engagements since being elected SBC president last month, although the events were scheduled even before he decided to be a candidate for the presidency.
While Luter disagrees with Obama on gay marriage, he was quick to note that it's not the first time he has disagreed with a president and he remains committed to pray for the president and his family.
Following Obama's May announcement of his "evolved" views in favor of gay marriage, Luter said many members of his predominantly African American congregation, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, asked for his reaction.
"I told my congregation, I support our president. I pray for him, but on this same-sex marriage deal, I'm totally against it," he said. "When I said that on that Sunday morning, not everybody, to be honest with you, but the majority of our members, stood up and applauded because they've known me to be a man of the Book."
When others became aware Luter's comments to his congregation, he received emails of appreciation, "because not everybody's taking a stand on that," he said, apparently referring to other African American pastors.
"That's one of the things I have to deal with - people feel that because I'm African American I've got to agree with everything that the president says because he's African American," Luter said.
"My mind is made up and set on this issue and it doesn't make me uncomfortable" to disagree with his fellow African American president, he said.
Luter said he is willing to be a spokesman for Southern Baptists on the issues of the day with the news media, adding, "I think you cannot avoid it in this position."
Obama's Call
President Obama called Luter two days after his election as SBC president - a call he at first suspected was a prank. He said Obama was gracious and the call "made my day."
Luter said Obama asked him, "How does it feel to be the most popular president in America?" Luter said the president greeted his wife, Elizabeth, saying, "Hello, First Lady Luter. Make sure this doesn't go to his head. OK?"
During the five-minute telephone conversation, Luter said Obama expressed a desire to meet him, although no plans were made.
Obama's call caused Luter to conclude his election "must be a big deal. I mean I didn't win an NBA championship. I didn't win the Super Bowl. I didn't win the World Series."

An unrelenting President Obama jabbed at Mitt Romney's record with a private equity firm in an ad Saturday that aimed to keep his rival on the defensive just as the Republican challenger's campaign hoped to take advantage of poor economic data to gain an edge on the incumbent.

Obama met Romney's plea for an apology for the attacks with a mocking ad that charged that the firm shipped American jobs to China and Mexico, that Romney has personal wealth in investments in Switzerland, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and that as Massachusetts governor, he sent state jobs to India.
"Mitt Romney's not the solution. He's the problem," the ads says as Romney is heard singing "America the Beautiful."
Pressure was building on Romney from within his own party to be more forthcoming with his finances, a day after he declared he would not release past income tax returns beyond his 2010 tax records and, before the November election, his 2011 taxes.
On the sidelines of the National Governors Association meeting in Williamsburg, Alabama's Republican governor, Robert Bentley, called on Romney to release all the documents requested of him.
"If you have things to hide, then maybe you're doing things wrong," Bentley said. "I think you ought to be willing to release everything to the American people."
A soaked Obama, campaigning in a downpour in closely contested Virginia, hewed to his middle class-centered pitch in remarks in the district represented by one of his top Republican nemeses, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. He attacked Romney and his Republican allies for pursuing what the president branded as outdated and discredited economic policies.
Obama spoke to about 900 people in Glen Allen, arriving in downpour. He eschewed a rain jacket or umbrella and apologized to the women for their ruined hairdos.
"We're gonna have to treat everybody to a salon visit after this" he quipped.
Obama didn't dwell on Romney's business record, leaving the sharpest attacks to his campaign and the new television commercial. Still he played up the charge that Romney and the private equity firm he founded in 1984, Bain Capital, sent jobs overseas.
"He invested in companies that have been called pioneers of outsourcing," the president said, his shirt drenched and water streaming down his face. "I don't want pioneers in outsourcing, I want some insourcing. I want to bring companies back."
While Obama hammered Romney for a second consecutive day in Virginia, Romney spent time with his family in New Hampshire. The candidate, taking a weekend off from public events, spent the morning at his lake house, working on his iPad on the lawn while his grandchildren played nearby. His last public event was Wednesday and he didn't plan other public campaign appearances until Tuesday.
Romney aides began the week drumming Obama on stubbornly high unemployment but watched their upper hand fade. Romney's advisers said Saturday they would keep their plan and not be distracted by Obama's criticism. Romney aides declined to weigh in on Obama's latest criticism and pointed to Romney's television interviews on Friday.
The intensifying attacks and the calls for greater openness came amid stepped up attention to discrepancies between Securities and Exchange Commission filings and Romney's recollection of his role at Boston-based Bain Capital.
At stake is Romney's chief contention that as a former businessman, he has the experience to create jobs and spur a struggling economy. The Obama campaign has countered that Romney ran a firm that pioneered the practice of sending American jobs out of the country and that his background is one of an investor.
Romney insists that he stepped down from his private equity firm years earlier than federal records indicate.
The new Obama ad was set to run in closely fought Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
In a round of interviews broadcast Friday evening, the Republican candidate said he wouldn't release more tax returns beyond the 2010 and 2011 returns.
"You can never satisfy the opposition research team of the Obama organization," Romney told CBS on Friday.
And he demanded an apology from Obama for the attacks. "This is simply beneath the dignity of the presidency of the United States," Romney told ABC.
Backhanding the request, the Obama campaign responded with a Web video that shows Romney criticizing Obama in speeches and interviews. Romney is seen accusing the president of not understanding freedom and following an appeasement strategy in foreign affairs, and saying he intends to "stuff it down his throat and point out that it is capitalism and freedom that makes this country strong."
On the flight from Washington to Richmond, Obama campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said that Romney "spends a lot of time asking for apologies, but he spends a lot of time attacking."
It wasn't just Obama, though, pressuring Romney.
"There is no whining in politics," chided John Weaver, a veteran Republican strategist. "Stop demanding an apology, release your tax returns."
Obama said the questions raised in numerous media reports and highlighted by his own campaign aides were a legitimate part of the race for the White House.
"Ultimately, I think, Mr. Romney is going to have to answer those questions because if he aspires to being president, one of the things you learn is you're ultimately responsible for the conduct of your operations," Obama said in an interview with the District of Columbia's WJLA-TV.
Romney called that "Chicago-style politics at its worst" and accused the president, who's from Chicago, and his campaign of trying to shift attention from the economy and unemployment situation.
In trying to put the matter behind him and return the campaign to his economic arguments, Romney declared he had "no role whatsoever in the management" of the company after he left to take over the Salt Lake City Olympic Games in early 1999.
Romney acknowledged that he would have benefited financially from Bain's operations even after he left management of the firm to others. That could open him up to criticism that he gained from investment in companies that sent jobs overseas.
"All of the investors participate in the success or failure of various investments, just like you do as a shareholder of an enterprise," Romney told CBS.
Bain Capital said in a statement that Romney "remained the sole stockholder for a time while formal ownership was being documented and transferred to the group of partners who took over management of the firm in 1999."

a-photo-of-the-life-size-noahs-ark-being-built-for-darren-aronofskys-biblical-epic-movie.jpgA photo of the massive life-sized ark being constructed for filmmaker Darren Aronofsky's Bible epic "Noah" has been released, and has movie-goers enthusiastic about the prospects of the ambitious film.
Pictured: A photo of the life-size Noah's Ark being built for Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic movie. The director shared the image with followers on Twitter July 11, 2012.

"I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it's a reality. Genesis 6:14," Aronofsky wrote along with the photo on his Twitter page Wednesday.
Genesis 6:14 (NIV) reads: "So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out."
The film, titled "Noah," which is currently in pre-production status and scheduled for a Spring 2014 release, already has a notable cast. Russell Crowe is set to play the title character of Noah, and other cast members include Emma Watson, Jennifer Connely, Logan Lerman and Ray Winstone. New Regency Productions and Paramount Pictures will produce and distribute the film.
Aronofsky also revealed this week that Sir Athony Hopkins had been added to the cast, hinting at his role with the hashtag "#methuselahlives." If the hashtag turns out to be true, Hopkins will be taking on the role of Noah's grandfather, whom the Bible identifies as Methuselah.

tony-evans.jpg?w=262On Saturday, a crowd of about 2,000 men will converge on Tony Evans' Dallas megachurch to hear him teach on biblical manhood during the "No More Excuses!" Men's Conference.
Pictured: Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, speaks at a "No More Excuses!" Men's Conference.

Evans' messages at the conference will be based on his book, Kingdom Man, which encourages men to seek a biblical standard of manhood instead of merely settling for the status quo. Evans will teach at all four sessions of the conference, which will take place at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, and will speak on topics like: a man's personal life under God, leading a family, being held accountable as part of a church and leaving a legacy for future generations.
Evans spoke with The Christian Post on Friday and explained why the topic of biblical manhood is so important to him.
"It's close to my heart because I think the breakdown in the culture is tied to the breakdown in manhood," he said. Many men have forsaken their God-given responsibilities, he says, and as a result our society has suffered.
Evans says men often have a number of different excuses as to why they aren't behaving or leading their families in a godly way. Some men, for example, didn't have a father around when they were growing up to teach them how to be a man. Others blame the way they are on the pressure society places on them, or on racism. And others think that men should be totally independent of everyone and everything, including God, an idea Evans says stems from a "false definition of manhood."
"Our conference is designed to, even if those realities are there, to not use them as excuses for not progressing to where God wants you to be," he said.

FAMU-president-james-h-ammons-resigns.jpg
Rep. Alan Williams, D-Tallahassee, issued the following statement this afternoon in the wake of FAMU President James H. Ammons' resignation:
"As a state lawmaker and graduate of Florida A&M University, I am saddened by the announcement of President Ammons' resignation," Williams said in the written statement. "From the outset of his tenure, President Ammons has shown strong leadership and has worked to ensure that FAMU remains a beacon of academic excellence.
"President Ammons has been a highly effective recruiter of talent to FAMU and he has instilled Rattler pride in the hearts of alumni throughout the world. He consistently puts first the best interests of FAMU students.
"Under his leadership, FAMU has strengthened its long-term vision and built on its excellent reputation. In fact, the university has been named one of the most popular schools in the country and one of the best institutions of learning for African Americans, particularly those earning doctoral degrees in the natural sciences, engineering and pharmacy.
"President Ammons has brought positive change to FAMU, and I believe he capably demonstrated strong leadership during a historic phase of development and progress at FAMU. His resignation is a personal decision, but I suspect that it is one that he making not for his own best interests but for the best interests of the future of the university. Accordingly, I am very proud of the work President Ammons has done. And like other supporters of FAMU, I am hopeful that the university's next president will be given the necessary respect and autonomy to carry forward with the important work that President Ammons has started."

dwight-howard-trade-talks-on-HOLD.jpg
The Orlando Magic put trade talks for center Dwight Howard on pause Wednesday because the team has not received a compelling enough offer, two people familiar with negotiations told USA TODAY Sports.
The Magic have balanced urgency and patience while trying to trade Howard, who wants out, preferably to the Brooklyn Nets, in hopes of receiving valuable assets in return.
The people requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about ongoing negotiations.
The Magic tried to send Howard to the Nets and even tried involving up to two other teams to complete a complicated, multi-player deal early this week. But there were too many snags, including a handful of Nets free agents who had to buy into sign-and-trade deals.
The Magic then had exploratory talks about dealing Howard to the Houston Rockets or Los Angeles Lakers, with Lakers center Andrew Bynum possibly landing in Houston.
Magic general manager Rob Hennigan, who has been in the job just two weeks since being hired from the Oklahoma City Thunder, addressed news reporters Wednesday to announce free-agent signings. However, the news conference turned into a Q&A referendum on Howard's status.
"We haven't ruled out anything," Hennigan told reporters. "We continue to be process driven. ... Again, the mantra is as we're figuring out this plan and process, what's in the best interest for this organization?"

prayer-worship-thecall.JPG
George Mueller, the great 19th-century British evangelist, prayed in more than $7 million during his lifetime to feed the thousands of orphans in his care. He didn't believe in telling people about his financial needs, yet he always had enough to pay his enormous grocery bill because God supernaturally provided.
But Mueller's faith was stretched in other ways. He prayed regularly over a list of five people he wanted to see converted to faith in Jesus. The first man was saved after five years. The second and third men converted to Christ after 10 years. The fourth man was saved after 25 years of consistent prayer.
But here's the clincher: Mueller prayed for the fifth man's conversion for a whopping 52 years. The friend made a profession of faith in Christ a few months after Mueller's funeral!
This story challenges me to the core because I'm so impatient. I'm guilty of revving my engine at stoplights and tapping my foot when my Internet connection is slow. Technology is a blessing, but it has also spoiled me into thinking I can get spiritual results as fast as I want them.
Would you pray about something consistently for 52 years if there was no sign an answer was coming? I started praying about some big requests three years ago, and I realized recently that I had grown weary of the process. Prayer had become painful. Doubts began smothering my dreams. I felt like giving up, but God spoke three simple truths to my heart. They might help you:
1. God never said this would be easy. Jesus gave us many wonderful, rosy promises, but He also said: "In the world you have tribulation" (John 16:33, NASB). That's not a Scripture you will find embroidered on a pillow or inscribed on a flowery greeting card. But it's a guarantee. Anybody who attempts something great for God will face difficulties.
Sometimes construction crews in my city erect large flashing signs along the highway near my house. All drivers groan when they see the message: "EXPECT DELAYS." Life is littered with these signs, and Jesus said they are part of our training process. If Abraham and Sarah had to wait 25 years for the birth of their promised heir, why do we think our answers should be instant?
2. You must persevere if you want to receive. Perseverance is one of those archaic words we've stripped from our vocabulary. Waiting is a weird concept for people in the 21st century who have movies-on-demand. If someone tells us to wait, we just find an app on our phone to speed up the process.
But there is no shortcut when it comes to receiving God's answers. The definition of perseverance is "steady persistence in a course of action or purpose, especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement." Faith is painful because God is stretching our spiritual capacity to receive. Press through the pain! There is gain on the other side.
Speaking of prayer, Jesus said: "Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you" (Matt. 7:7, AMP). In other words, don't stop praying no matter how long the answer takes.
