A Florida pastor has successfully lobbied the SBC publisher to stop stocking a PG-13 movie that carries what he calls an unprecedented parental advisory about graphic language.
LifeWay Christian Stores will no longer sell videos of "The Blind Side" after a Florida pastor proposed a resolution for next week's Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting protesting the sale of a PG-13 movie that contains profanity and a racial slur.

Just a month before its June release in the U.S., Paramount Pictures delayed the debut of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" by nine months after another movie based on a Hasbro plaything was trounced at the box office by "The Avengers."
Paramount on Wednesday pushed back the release of the "G.I. Joe" sequel from June 29 until March 29, 2013, in order to adapt the movie for 3-D screens, according to Paramount's executive vice president of publicity, Katie Martin Kelley.

Great news for "Avatar" fans, but not for those hoping to see director James Cameron's take on romantic comedies. The Oscar-winning King of the World told the New York Timesthat he's only in "the 'Avatar' business" now.
"I'm making 'Avatar 2,' 'Avatar 3,' maybe 'Avatar 4,'" Cameron revealed during an interview about the Chinese film industry. "I'm not going to produce other people's movies for them. I'm not interested in taking scripts."

"Sparkle," a feature film about a musical sister act that's set in Detroit at the peak of the Motown era, has been approved for $3.1 million in Michigan film incentives.

 



The movie is a remake of the 1976 movie starring Irene Cara, Lonette McKee and Philip Michael Thomas that is set in Harlem and said to be inspired by the story of the Supremes.
