Shai Linne Addresses Christian Hip-Hop (After Recent Drama) With a Letter on Rapzilla: Dear CHH

This is Shai Linne. Some of you have known me for a while. For some of you, your first introduction to me was through some hard things I said on a couple of recent songs. If that’s you, I’m sorry that we had to meet under circumstances like this. However, I trust that the sovereign Lord will use even that for His purposes.  Now, I know that some of you don’t identify as “CHH”. You don’t think “Christian” should ever be used as an adjective, but only as a noun. We can leave that debate for another time, but if that’s you and you embrace the noun for yourself, I’m talking to you as well. In order to give you the full context of what I said and why I said it, there are a few things you need to know about me. First, I’ve been involved in CHH since before it was known as CHH. My first song dropped back in 2000. (Yup, I’m an old head). My first album came out in 2005. I know that…See More

The Best Lipsticks For Brown Skin, Personal Picks 2017 Edition!

Fun fact – sometimes on blustery days when the Chicago wind is howling and I still, for some reason absolutely have to venture out of my home, I don’t wear anything on my face but moisturizer, mattifying primer, sunglasses and lipstick. Gotta have the lipstick. It pulls the look together and makes me look like I put in effort for the day! The bolder the better, and for harsh winter wind conditions I need something that glides on, stays on, and makes an impact. For us WOC, it’s all about that color payoff. Sheer doesn’t work around here! I’m constantly seeking vibrant, bold, long lasting, non-drying lip power. So without further ado, I’m sharing some of my favorite new colors, brands and formulations to put on your radar – I’ve got more of these in my purse right now than I care to admit!

MAC Liptensity

MAC Liptensity – enhanced pigment, gel formula and shaped like a gloss for on-the-go application. What’s not to love?

Color pick – Burnt Violet

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge – The first time I tried to open this stylish, sleek tube, I had no idea what I was doing. Pro tip – press down on the top for a satisfying click and bold pop of color, plus hydration for days.

Color pick – Caprice

NARS Audacious Lipstick

NARS Audacious Lipstick – if you love luxury lipsticks, you gotta try NARS. Audacious collection includes such elegant, sexy lipsticks, the kind you feel proud to pull out of your purse. 40 shades of single-stroke, high pigment megacolor, each with a woman’s name.

Color pick – Liv.

Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer

Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer – I’m telling you, don’t sleep on Clinique! They’ve got great lip colors in a wide range of shades. Their Pop products stay in my purse. These lippies feel light and glide on beautifully.

Color pick – Cola Pop

Urban Decay Revolution Lipgloss

Urban Decay Revolution Lip Gloss – The brand behind some of my favorite 90’s lipsticks is delivering the goods in a gloss. Creamy, plush high pigment, high gloss color for the bold and the brave. These are intense and I’m in love.

Color pick – Apocalypse. But Vice never gets old!

Drugstore picks

ELF Moisturizing Lipstick

ELF Moisturizing Lipstick – There’s affordable makeup, and then there’s ELF – how do they manage to deliver on quality at such low prices? I love their lip products. They make great matte lipsticks. And the moisturizing lipstick comes in a range of great, vibrant shades at like $3 a pop. And there’s the detachable extra lip color on the bottom!

Color pick – Razzle Dazzle
