"The Have and the Have Nots" (OWN)

The freshman series has received an additional 16-episode order from the network.
OWN has doubled up on Tyler Perry drama The Haves and Have Nots.
The Oprah Winfrey Network on Tuesday ordered 16 additional episodes of the freshman drama series, bringing its total season order to 32 installments. The first 16 episodes will run through Sept. 3 with the back order premiering in early 2014.
The series, which marks OWN's first scripted effort, debuted with a record launch in May, pulling in 1.77 million total viewers at 9 p.m. The launch was part of a back-to-back bow, with its second episode growing to 1.8 million viewers at 10 p.m.
Among women 25-54, OWN's ad-friendly demo, the 9 p.m. episode brought in a 1.57 rating and the 10 p.m. episode pulled a 1.67 rating.
Missing from the order is news on Perry's other OWN series, comedy entry Love Thy Neighbor, which garnered a near-record 1.65 million viewers during its 9 p.m. bow and 1.8 million viewers with its second episode. The series bowed the night after Haves and Have Nots. The comedy series had an initial order of 26 episodes, which will air through September at which point Perry's For Better or Worse will take over its time slot. The latter was also a 26-episode order, in addition to the 45 season one and two installments OWN acquired from TBS.
Have and Have Nots follows the Cryer family and the hired help who work in the family's mansion.
