Rumors continue to heat up for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 successor, presumed to be called the Galaxy S5. The last few weeks have given way to multiple reports about potential design features for the flagship device. One such rumor was that the Galaxy S5 would be offered in two versions, a premium metal model and a traditional classic form factor.

According to Japanese website EMS One, the Galaxy S5 will employ a unibody metal design unlike anything used in the series thus far. Reportedly, Taiwanese parts supplier Catcher will ship metal casings for the handset to Samsung later this month (December). With somewhere between 10 million and 30 million cases coming from Catcher, China’s BYD and Taiwan’s Ju Teng are expected to supply the additional units.

Earlier rumors for the Galaxy S5 suggest that the device will be an outright beast. Specifications tossed in the mix over the last few months include Samsung’s new 64-bit eight-core Exynos processor, a 16-megapixel camera, 3GB RAM, and a 4,000 mAh battery. Expected to run Android 4.4 KitKat, the device should also boast Samsung’s latest custom UI.
