President Obama delivers his State of the Union address Tuesday to the first Republican-controlled Congress of his presidency. While the administration and GOP leaders have said they want to find common ground and ways to compromise, Obama is likely to offer an array of policy proposals that are unlikely to advance in Congress in the final two years of his administration.

White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer told NBC’s Meet the Press that the theme of the speech is “middle-class economics” and
