Devotional: No Trespassing

The Five Man Electrical Group, based in Canada, had a popular song in the 1970's. "Signs" had a catchy tune and an ironic theme. Signs are everywhere and some have a way of restricting our freedoms. If we see signs reading "Posted-No Trespassing," we are not free to enter that property. The owner of the land can legally place charges against anyone who trespasses, purposely violating the posted sign.

How many times a day do I trespass against the Lord and others?

In most Bible versions, Luke 11:4 refers to trespasses as sins

"And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil (Luke 11:4 KJV)."

Where do we find an early reference to trespasses as sins? It dates back to the Tyndale Bible of 1526.
