God is for us, and although there is an enemy who wants to destroy us and our marriages and families, he may NOT, in Jesus' name!
As wives and mothers, it is our job to speak the Word of God over our marriages and families, along with, or even in place of (if they are not born again, or don't know or want to do these things) our husbands. God honors even one spouse who has faith, even if the other doesn't, to sanctify the marriage and the children, and He can do amazing things with the faith of just one spouse!
Say these things over your marriage and family daily, and ask the LORD to lead you to more! There is great power in your words, for they shape your world, so what kind of world do you want?
As the refining pot for silver and the furnace for gold [bring forth all the impurities of the metal], so let a man be in his trial of praise [ridding himself of all that is base or insincere; for a man is judged by what he praises and of what he boasts]. -- Proverbs 27:21, AMPC
One of the main ways to overcome disappointments, bitterness, unforgiveness, and other hurts in marriage and life is to find Scriptures to read, think on, choose to believe, and declare--speak out loud--every day.
The Word of God is alive and ever able to heal, deliver, restore, and bring transformation to any situation. It must, however, be applied.
He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction. -- Psalm 107:20, NASB,
and Jeremiah 30:17, NASB: For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the Lord, ‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying: “It is Zion; no one cares for her.”’
I have found particular comfort and strength, new hope and dreams, through Isaiah 54:
“Rejoicea]">[a] with singing, you barren one!
You who have never given birth,
burst into a song of joy and shout,
you who have never been in labor:
For the deserted wife will have more children
than the married one,” says Yahweh.
2 “Increase is coming, so enlarge your tent
and add extensions to your dwelling.d]">[d]
Hold nothing back! Make the tent ropes longer and the pegs stronger.e]">[e]
3 You will increase and spread out in every direction.f]">[f]
Your sons and daughtersg]">[g] will conquer nations
and revitalize desolate cities.
4 Do not fear, for your shame is no more.
Do not be embarrassed,
for you will not be disgraced.
You will forget the inadequacy you felt in your youth
and will no longer remember the shame of your widowhood.
5 For your Maker is your husband;
his name is Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies!
Your Kinsman-Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel!
He has the title Mighty God of All the Earth!h]">[h]
6 For I, Yahweh, have invited you to come back
like a depressed, deserted wife.
Like a young wife who has experienced rejection,
I am drawing you back to me,” says Yahweh.
7 “For just a brief moment I deserted you,
but with tender feelings of love
I will gather you back to me.
8 In a surge of anger, for just the briefest moment,
I hid my face from you,
but with everlasting kindness,
I will show you my cherishing love,”
says Yahweh, your Kinsman-Redeemer.
9 “To me, this is like the time when I vowed
that the waters of Noah’s flood
would never again cover the earth.
Now I vow to you that I will neither be angry with you
nor rebuke you.
10 Even if the mountains were to crumble
and the hills disappear,
my heart of steadfast, faithful love
will never leave you,
and my covenant of peacei]">[i] with you will never be shaken,”
says Yahweh,
whose love and compassionj]">[j] will never give up on you.
God Will Restore
11 “You unhappy one, storm-tossed and troubled,k]">[k]
I am ready to rebuild you with precious stonesl]">[l]
and embed your foundation with sapphires.m]">[m]
12 I will make your towers of rubies,
your gates of sparkling jewels,n]">[n]
and all your wallso]">[o] of precious, delightful stones.
13 All your children will be taught by Yahweh,p]">[p]
and great will be their peace and prosperity.
14 You will be established in righteousness.
Oppression—be far from them!q]">[q]
Fear—be far from them!r]">[r]
Yes, terror will not come near you, nor will you be afraid.
15 If anyone dares to stir up strife against you,
it is not from me!
Those who challenge you will go down in defeat.
16 See, I am the one who created the craftsman
who fans the coals into a fire
and forges a weapon fit for its purpose,
and I am the one who created the destroyer to destroy.
17 But I promise you,
no weapon meant to hurt you will succeed,
and you will refutes]">[s] every accusing word spoken against you.
This promise is the inheritance of Yahweh’s servants,t]">[t]
and their vindicationu]">[u] is from me,” says Yahweh.
I have put in bold and italics those verses that really have ministered to me through the years! This is just one chapter in the matchless, eternal, unchanging Word of God, Your Redeemer, your Heavenly Husband (Who is always and forever perfectly faithful, perfectly adoring of you, and finding no fault in you, while He continues to woo and heal and love you into desiring more of Him, and to be more like Him) and the Lover of your soul!
You can ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to many more declarations, and He will. He created you and knows you more than you know yourself, so He knows exactly what you need for every situation.
When you declare the Word of God, the LORD and His holy angels hears it, the demons hear it (and shudder!), and you hear it--in your body, mind, and spirit! Speaking the Word of God always changes things, even though it may be hours or days or weeks or even years before you see change. But we walk by faith--knowing that the Word of God is working on our behalf, forever!
Now, here are a few declarations that came up in my spirit this morning to share. You can add more to your situations in every part of life!
AS IT IS WRITTEN! (Search online or in your physical Bible to find these treasures. I promise you, they are in there!)
I am a delightsome land!
I am a Bride without spot or wrinkle.
I am a tender, gentle, attractive doe to my husband at all times.
Every other female besides me is forever strange flesh to my husband, and every other male besides my husband is forever strange flesh to me.
He is ravished always with MY love, MY appearance, MY voice, MY breasts!
He is captured with MY eyelids!
I am a wife earnest and strong in character, a crowing joy to my husband.
Strength and dignity are my clothing, and I smile at the future, for the best is yet to come, and I am well prepared.
My children arise and call me blessed, and my husband praises me also.
What the enemy means for evil, God always works for good!
The thief (satan the enemy) is found, and he must restore seven fold to me in this marriage and otherwise, all he has stolen!
The LORD is restoring to me all that has been stolen, for the enemy is limited in what he can restore, but I do demand 7-fold from the enemy in every way!
God always causes me the righteous to triumph in every situation, and I come out of every trial complete and lacking nothing!
I submit to God, resist the devil, and he fless from me and my marriage!
Whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this marriage is born of God and thus overcomes the world.
The LORD makes the bitter waters sweet.
He turns our darkness into light.
Where sin did abound in this marriage, God's Grace for the opposite good does now much more abound!
No weapon formed against me or my marriage shall ever prosper!
God is working righteousness and justice for me where I've been oppressed!
The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has freed me and my marriage from the law of sin and death!
What God has joined together, let no person divide!
He has healed my broken heart and bound up my wounds.
He has turned my mourning into dancing.
Weeping had endured for a night, but joy comes this morning!
