Daily Devotional: BELIEVE GOD FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE | Step Out In Faith - #Inspirational & #Motivational

Sometimes, it's difficult to have faith. Our journey as followers of Christ can sometimes be tumultuous. It can sometimes be difficult and even dangerous for us to stand out and declare what we believe. Much like Christ, the early apostles walked difficult journeys. Sometimes having to ask for and receive the impossible to survive.

Even today, if you are a Christian there will be parts of your journey that are impossible to walk alone. Where nothing truly makes any sense, we struggle to stay afloat. Sometimes, life springs some surprises on us. We could fall sick without warning, be in need of financial assistance, struggle with our faith, and so on. There are a lot of things that we could struggle with, but we have a lifeline. We can look to heaven. We serve a God who does the impossible. We serve a God who encourages us to ask. We serve a God who gives us a path to a better tomorrow.

Matthew 7: 7-8 tells us, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7‭-‬8 KJV‬

Jeremiah 29: 11 tells us a very revealing truth. Much like us, the people of Israel were hoping for the impossible, return back into the land that God had given them. They had been in exile for a while and had started to rely on false hopes and promises from false prophets. The Lord sent Jeremiah to give them a message. A message of warning to beware of false prophets and assurance as to God's ultimate plan for them. We will read out from the Book of Jeremiah. Chapter 29 verse 11 is our verse of interest.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

These two verses tell us of the story of God's grace and plans in the lives of His people. While they were words spoken to the Israelites, they apply to every Christian.

In today's devotion, we are here to talk about asking God for the impossible. Simply put, our topic is "Believing God for the impossible". As Christians, we ought to learn how to trust God. That He will provide for us. We will be discussing why we sometimes fail to trust God when He tells us to ask for the impossible. We will be discussing on the importance of asking Him and not turning to the world for answers and about having faith in the face of the impossible.

We hope you enjoy this , devotion but above all that it reminds you to trust in God when you face impossible odds rather than let those odds overcome you.

One of the most important aspects of being a Christian is discernment and maintaining a sense of perspective. It takes discernment to truly understand the place of prayer in our lives and it takes having perspective to be able to see where we are going in our lives. Just as a sailor, we are only as good as our ability to see, both figuratively as in discernment and literally as in perspective.

It takes these two to fully understand that our journey on earth is a rather dangerous one. It's been perilous. This is because the earth is not our home. While we reside here, our eternal destination is far removed from the earth and is a place that is going to be hostile towards the children of God until the age of judgment.

Part of the problem with living in the world is that it has systems. There are systems for everything. Systems to get you food, systems to use food to manipulate you, systems to honor the devil, systems to make you apathetic as well as systems to make you doubt and not believe in God.

The last system is particularly dangerous. A Christian who no longer believes in Christ and His Father is not only going to be beaten down, He will lose every time because He is now walking in hand with oppressive systems of the world. This system is built to make sure instead of turning to God, you turn to a bottle. Instead of asking in faith, you steal, deceive and manipulate. Instead of raising hands and eyes towards God, we turn our attention towards the kingdom of darkness. That's what the devil and the systems want for each of our lives.

So, every now and then, life throws you a curveball. You fall sick and need money immediately. You struggle with sin and need salvation. Each one of these is crafted and built in a way to push you to the point where you might no longer believe in God or are no longer actively worshiping God.
