Daily Devotional: Are You Faithful? | Psalm 12:1 |

Do you have a friend who cancels on you? Often you make plans together and as you do you wonder if your friend will actually follow through the days pass and you're all set to see each other you're excited that this time you won't be disappointed. But then the message arrives. Something has come up and they're not going to be able to make it.

Again, you sigh with disappointment and you're less eager to make plans with them in the future. In the Old Testament, King David lamented the loss of people of commitment and character, although he faced rejection on a bigger scale than just missed plans.

In Psalm 12:1, he cried out to God.

Help lord for no one is faithful anymore, and those who are loyal have vanished from the human race .

He mourned the loss of faithful people who are loyal and committed and described how he'd been gossiped about and maligned, But he knew where to turn for help. He turned to God. He's the only true, faithful one and David knew he'd never let him down!

God saw his motives and would n't fail him.

Consider what it means to you to be a person of character, one who's, faithful and true, and the role God plays in building that quality in you. It might be helpful to think back over the past couple of months to evaluate how you behaved in a variety of situations. Did you keep your word where and why did you let someone down.

How can you seek god's help in the areas where you struggle know that god delights in helping us to strengthen our commitment to him and to others turn to him? He's there for you.
