Women of god, whether you like it or not, whether you even realize it or not, we're in a spiritual war. In Genesis 2:18. We read that and the Lord God said
it is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.
Now for clarity, the term helper is not demeaning, it's not insignificant. If you don't believe me read John 14:26, which says
but the helper, the holy spirit whom the father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance, all things that i said to you
Now this isn't a comparison of women to the holy spirit, but rather it's us looking at the biblical use of the term helper, a helper isn't anything lesser, it's not anything inferior, and so God said it's not good for man to be alone, I will make a suitable Helper up until that point, everything God had created was good. He was happy with it, but how strange that the lord himself would create something and then take a step back and say it's not good for my creation to be alone, and this is what we need to realize as Women of God. The heart cannot function without blood arms and legs can't function without the brain. A car can't move without an engine, and so a house can't be a home without the touch of a Godly woman.
Children are told in proverbs 6:20.
Don't neglect your mother's instruction.
Children need Godly mothers too. A marriage can't survive without the prayers of a Godly, wife, so know you're worth daughter of God, because if you don't, if you don't know who you are in christ, then an enemy can use that against you. He can use it to suppress the call of God on your life. He can use it to oppress you and limit you, but don't accept it, get into God's word and begin to know for yourself what your worth is in God, what your intended impact is. A woman has influence, and it's up to us when it comes to how we use our influence, some use it for personal gain. Some use it for the good of those around them, but the bottom line is that women have influence. The shunamite woman influenced her husband to take in Elijah in 2 Kings 4:9 the Bible reads, and she said to her husband
Behold now. I know that this is a holy man of God, who is continually passing our way. Let us make a small room on the roof, with walls and put there for him, a bed, a table, a chair and a lamp so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there. She used her influence to serve the man of God, but there are other women in the Bible who didn't really use their influence for good. Remember, Delilah in judges, 16:6. The Bible says
so Delilah said to samson. Tell me the secret of your great strength.
Now, We all know that there is no woman who can get a secret from a man unless she's got some type of influence over him, good or bad. You can only get someone to open up to you when you have influence and when you look at what influence really means, it's the capacity or power to be a compelling force. Influence affects the actions behavior and opinions of others. God used Esther and she became a powerful woman of wisdom and influence. She was used by the Lord to save his people and on the opposite side of things.
Jezebel was used by the devil. To try and hinder God's work through Elisha. She too was a woman of influence, but not the kind of influence that you should ever desire to have. I'm really trying to paint this picture to you that a Godly woman has influence a worldly woman has influence, and the key marker that you need to be asking yourself is: what is my influence? Who am I influencing?
Even how am I influencing now with that understanding? We need to know that Satan wants to defeat us. He wants to chew us up and spit us out and because the enemy knows you have influence, he will always want to use it to accomplish his will, which is and leads to destruction and because God created you with influence, he wants you to yield yourself to Surrender so that he can use your influence for the glory of his kingdom. That's why the Bible says a wise woman builds her house and the foolish one tears hers down. That's not talking about physically building a house brick by brick.
That verse is talking about influence. The type of influence she has can either build or destroy every time we pray, we engage in a war in the heavenlies as we grow. In our spirit, in our faith, we are growing in our Godly influence as women, but when we neglect the Lord, when we neglect prayer, we open ourselves to still be influential women, but not of God so aim to have the right type of influence. One of Jesus's aims was to create a lifestyle in his followers that non-believers would see the goodness of God. He wanted to create a lifestyle that would make people see that they need God for themselves, a lifestyle that demonstrates the type of 360 turn that can happen to someone when they encounter the lord assault, the persecutor.
Turning to Paul the Apostle type of change, a Moses, the stutterer, turning to Moses, the great man of God, type of change, now, what's your lifestyle like? Are you living in such a way that others see you and say? That's a woman of God? That's a woman of faith: are you living in such a way that people have to find out how on earth did you turn your life around and you can say if it had not been, for the lord understand that we are called to be the salt and Light of this world and Matthew 5:16 says
let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.
Let your light shine.
Women of God, you are called to influence the world around you. Even a hostile world to influence your home, your children, your church, let your light shine. These aren't my words, but they are the words in matthew. 5:16. The light that's in you will lead people to glorify God in heaven, and you know I always used to wonder why does the Bible refer to us as children of god saying in Matthew, 5:13
You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
Then I realized that salt is a preservative in early history to preserve food in those days. Salt is what they used when there were no refrigerators. So now the Bible refers to us as salt.
In a spiritual sense, we use the children of God. We, as the disciples of christ, are to preserve our society, our communities with our influence. We are to be soul, winners for christ so that he can save their souls from spending eternity in darkness. But here's the interesting thing about this verse in Matthew.
There is a warning if the salt loses its flavor. It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot, and that's because in those olden days some of the salt had impurities, which meant that the outer layer was lacking flavor. So it was discarded as worthless. Salt would be thrown into the street and trampled on, so this verse shakes things up. It's a wake up, call we're being told to remain as true followers of christ who have a Godly influence, children of God who have the flavor of God. In short, we must remain distinct as women of God, salt does his work in a quiet manner.
It's not loud, it's not a flashy method of preservation. You cannot even see it work, and so, as distinct women of God, we are to live our lives in such a way whereby the God inside of us affects our surroundings. The Holy Spirit inside of us has an impact on the atmosphere around us. The anointing that God has placed on us should affect those in the same environment as us. So I encourage you to be a woman of influence, knowing that your influence comes from and is strengthened by your relationship with Jesus Christ.
