This week, a PI Girl was expressing her honesty that she feels insecure at times in our culture that’s focused on appearance, selfishness and how we look.

There is so much pressure to post “perfect” photos on your feed on Instagram and on other social media, but it can be hard on our self-confidence. I agree that we must be watchful about where we place our identity and we must remember that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139). We are all unique and beautiful, and we must remember that God made us for a special purpose.

I’ve seen some quotes that you’ve probably heard or read online that are very beneficial to keep in mind when comparing yourself to others online. One is “Don’t compare your life to someone else’s highlight reel.” Another quote is “Don’t compare your reality to someone’s controlled online content.” This is so true and real, ladies! Seriously, we need to pump the brakes on comparison.

The Bible tells us to watch out for covetousness and to really guard our hearts and minds. I pray that you realize how special and precious you are to God. I pray that you see that the Lord is on your side and He has big plans for you. He wants you to walk in the calling and plan He has prepared.

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” (Luke 12:15)
