NBA commissioner Adam Silver had no problem with Kevin Durant exercising his right to sign with any team of his choosing. He just wished KD would have chosen a different team. Durant signed a two-year contract with the Golden State Warriors last week, adding another superstar to a roster already rich with them. The Warriors will be prohibitive favorites to reach a third consecutive NBA Finals this season, which Silver views as a negative for the NBA as a whole. “I don’t think it’s good for the league, just to be really clear,” the commissioner told reporters Tuesday at the NBA’s Board of Governors meetings, via The Washington Post. “I will say, whoever is favored, try telling that to the 420 other players who aren’t on those two teams (the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers). We have the greatest collection of basketball players in the world in our league, so I’m not making any predictions.
“But there’s no question when you aggregate the great players (on those two teams) they have a better chance of winning than many other teams … It’ll be interesting to see what happens. But to be absolutely clear, I don’t think it’s ideal from a league standpoint."
