Magic Johnson played in nine NBA Finals, winning five of them, so he knows well the ebbs and flows of a seven-game series with a world championship on the line.
After watching the Golden State Warriors dispatch the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night to take a 2-0 series lead – making a 110-77 win look downright easy – Johnson indicated on Twitter that Cleveland may have already lost the series mentally.
There comes a point in the NBA Finals when one team knows that the other team is better than they are, the Cavs now know.
Golden State’s Game 2 blowout win followed a 104-89 Game 1 victory, which followed two regular-season wins over the Cavs, which followed three straight wins against Cleveland to close out last season’s NBA Finals.
