Since reports of a death at the compound were first confirmed on Thursday morning,multiple sources emerged confirming that the iconic singer is the one who was found dead, and his publicist has confirmed to the Associated Press that the singer has passed away.

Prince had been struggling with health issues as of late, with a medical emergency forcing an unscheduled landing of his private jet in Illinois earlier this week. He was hospitalized for his symptoms, but appeared at a concert the next day, and reportedly told TMZ that he was battling the flu.

Paramedics were called to the Paisley Park studio at 9:43 this morning, and the Carver County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that there had been a fatality at the site. A forensics team and medical examiner were sighted at the scene, according to local news station Fox 9.

Prince sold more than 100 million albums over the course of his multi-decade career, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest live performers of all time. His death comes as a shock to many fans, as he seemed in good health and good spirits until the day he died.
