Stacey Dash rubbed the majority of people the wrong way when they came in contact with her recent comments. During an appearance on the Fox News network, the actress said America should do away with Black History Month — and BET — if we want to be inclusive of all races.

“If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards, and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” she said. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard […] Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. We’re American, that’s it.”

Dash’s controversial statements received attention from Gabrielle Union to Janet Hubert, but now on this first day of BHM, a group of kids are speaking to its importance through wit and knowledge.

A few of the precocious children asked if Dash’s wish was even legal and inquired on whether or not Kanye West is aware of his former “All Falls Down” video co-star’s statement. Throughout the 60-second visual, the kids also exclaim their excitement to celebrate their rich culture.
