WE ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT

We are not always right! me included. It is sometimes very hard to know what we believe in, is something not true. Some people might throw the Bible at me at this point. My answer is that we can interpret the Bible wrongly at times and not know it. Our churches can interpret the Bible wrongly too at times. The proof of that is, different denominations have different beliefs on some areas, somebody has to be wrong, we cannot all be right. People are people and we do the best we can. Very few people pray for discernment or wisdom and understanding. We just jump right in with our views on what is right and what is wrong depending how we see things. We can be very set in our ways on how we see things and not be willing to let go of beliefs that God is trying to steer us away from. One such belief that I finally had to surrender on and ask myself was, 'if people needed a new heart, is it all right to have a heart transplant?' I believed so strongly that God would not approve of it, because to me it was like using the body the same way as we gets new parts for our cars. It horrified me that people actually believe it was not offensive to God.

I remember watching a television program many years ago, about a man who needed a new heart and his daughter I think died in a car accident and her spirit was trying desperately to get him to take her heart since it was compatible to his. He eventually accepted, at first he did not want to, because he felt bad about it, but she kept persisting. His testimony confused me no end, but I still kept to my old beliefs. Then a few years after that testimony I read where God put it into a man's heart to give up one of his kidneys to a stranger, after struggling with the idea he eventually did. Now that really confused me. What do you do when God has spoken? You cannot really deny it can you? Of course you check the testimony out and listen to the Holy Spirit in you to see if the person is not being deceived by an evil spirit. But if something inside you is saying he is speaking the truth and it was really God talking to him, what do you do? I turned and prayed. I said to Jesus 'I know you told him to give up one of his kidneys but I cannot get my head around it. I just cannot accept it, it still feels wrong to me. I am sorry will you help me.' Jesus then appeared to me in spirit and His smile was so beautiful, full of love and gentleness, He did not condemn me or judged me. He did not say anything but His smile spoke for itself. He was basically telling me He knows how hard it was for me to believe but in good time I will believe. What a loving God. He is so understanding of our weakness.

Many of us try to put God into a box. You know you cannot restrain God. He does what He wants to do not want you want Him to do. His ways are not our ways. He is the God of truth, God knows all there is to know, we are only learning to know a very small portion of that truth. Jesus is the teacher not us. We have to learn to surrender to Him. He does not have to surrender to us. Truth is truth and it will set you free. Since we are constantly learning new truths, because we do not know it all, it is important that we learn humility and practise a pure life. Because in the Bible it teaches us that God will only give His secrets to the humble and the pure of heart. So because we are constantly learning the truth at deeper levels there is always areas in our life that is not free. When we see that we know in some areas we are believing in a lie and then we pray and ask God to open our eyes so that we then work on that area with the grace of God.

I believe that Christian don't often think just how powerful their prayers can be, so they pray for small things and only for people they know. I believe in praying big because I know God wants to do great things through us.
