LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, the first Android Wear powered smartwatches, are out of stock on Google Play Store in India.

After nearly two weeks of getting listed, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, the first Android Wear powered smartwatches, are out of stock on Google Play Store in India.

Google started selling the LG G Watch at Rs 14,999 on June 26 with deliveries commencing July 8, while Samsung’s first Android Wear smartwatch went on sale at Rs 15,900 just four days back.

The depletion of stocks is not really an indicative of the popularity of the device. It’s also possible that Google had limited supplies of the devices. The smartwatch segment is at a nascent stage with a limited ecosystem of apps and use cases. In fact, early users of Android Wear devices just discovered that paid apps don’t work on these devices due to digital rights management (DRM) conflicts.

Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch can be used with any Smartphone running Android 4.3 and above.

LG G Watch sports a 1.65-inch IPS LCD(280x280p) display. It is also powered by a 1.2 GHz Processor and 512MB RAM, and comes with 4GB internal storage. It has a 400mAh battery. LG G Watch comes with changeable straps, accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, and is dust and water resistant(IP67).
