James Mangold's sequel to 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" got the world's first Vine-based teaser for the trailer.
A flurry of promotional items for The Wolverine hit the web on Monday, giving fans their first look at six-seconds of Fox's hotly anticipated film.
A new one-sheet for James Mangold's sequel to 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine features a shirtless Hugh Jackman kneeling in the rain, surrounded by a dark city. The film, following Logan (Jackman) as he travels to Japan and faces his ultimate nemesis, is set for release on July 26.
A six-second glimpse of the upcoming trailer for The Wolverine was also released, giving fans a don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it view of what's to come. A 20-second teaser will be released Tuesday, March 26, and a full trailer will be released on Wednesday, March 27. That's right: this is a teaser for a teaser for a trailer.
The Vine-based clip -- being called a "twzzr" or "tweezer" -- was tweeted by Mangold on Monday. Fox co-president of marketing Tony Sella came up with the concept, which is the world's first-ever Vine-base twzzer, and a notable departure from the normal route of releasing a teaser trailer on the film's website or Apple trailer page.
