Marriage Life

Here are two questions that I want you to answer:

1.  How are you involving your spouse in your ministry or kingdom business?

2.  How are you involved in whatever your spouse is doing if she is not involved in your ministry or kingdom business?

Let me give you two examples out of my own life.

For the first question, when I was touring and doing shows (because I don’t do shows or tour anymore because of the role God is calling me to), I didn’t have a “merch’ table mistress.” My wife worked the merchandise table. Not only that, there were times where she operated the door and handled the entry and cash box for us. She handled a lot of the times the finances because she is good with money.

Now today, for the section question, my wife acts more like a “booking agent”! And what I mean by that is when people want me speak, do shows, help out with an outreach, or do anything outside of the home and family realm I have to check with her. We value the family after God (He’s first of course) and before everything else. If I fail here, I fail everywhere else. So anything that is NOT of my mission statement or takes away from pre-planned family events then the answer will most likely be no. And it doesn’t matter what it is. It could be the president booking me to speak to congress. The answer will still be no!

The spouse always comes second after God. As God’s Word says,

“… [Husbands and wives] as being heirs TOGETHER [Gk: ‘a co-heir, i.e. (by analogy) participant in common:--fellow (joint)-heir, heir together, heir with (one another)’] of the grace OF LIFE [icing on the cake]; that your [the husband and wife’s] prayers [Gk: ‘prayer (worship):--earnest prayer’] be not hindered [Gk: ‘to exscind; figuratively, to frustrate:--cut down (off, out), hew down, hinder’].” (1st Peter 3:7).

My wife and I are to leave the old, cleave to each other, and intimately we become ONE new creation that our worship and prayers to God be not hindered.

NO man ever hated his own flesh. No man every hated his selfish self. Even the suicide victim kills himself out of a desire to please their self, whether it is to ease some pain or run away from some horrible anguish in life that drove him to do it.
