When a music minister (or any other minister for that reason) fails to spend time with their own kids over doing music ministry (usually to other people’s kids) I call this spiritual and emotional child abuse. Deadbeat daddies are just not cool anymore. Actually it never was! And single parent mommies who are so ghetto teaching their daughters how to “pop that thang” is like in my opinion disgusting!
We are raising kings, queens, princes, and princesses to rule and reign with the very Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the King of these kings that we are training! Our children are our first disciples and our number one ministry.
Again, like I said earlier, I am no expert in this area. And I know personally that I need to get better at this. I have a good and godly wife who stays on top of me with this, because I know how it is to lose sight of the purpose God gave us children in the first place.

I am growing and that’s the best you or I can do. We have to be intentional about these things. I personally read books by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell like Five Love Languages of Children. I am also reading a real good book called The Dad in the Mirror by Patrick Morley and David Delk. I know there are probably other good books out there but the Good Book—the Word of God—is the BEST book. If you want to know how to be a good parent, watch the relationship between God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Or you can look at the way Jesus Christ with the Father in Him treating the 12 Apostles like little children.
