Before I get real heavy in this message, let me use three Scriptures to kind of set the tone for each three sections that I am going to break this message up into. And the reason why I am going to do this is because their used to be a tension between the Prophet and the Pastor (click here to see article called “Prophetic Psalmist School”). I mean in a lot of places there still is. But now with the coming forth of the apostles there is an underlying tension between the Apostles and the Pastors in the local churches.
Apostle Tim Early said it best when he said to the pastors,

“Through impartation, God is making known His will to you [to the local pastors and elders] and others. So, allow apostles of the Spirit to speak into your life to refuel you for a bold new destiny. Start walking in the apostolic dimension through impartation.”
One of the BEST examples I have heard of the relationship between these two titans is this:
“The difference between an apostle and pastor is similar to that of a small business owner and an entrepreneur. A small business owner has a passion to own their business and is very satisfied running it. An Apostle feels a call to take the concepts they learn and apply them to another location and another, much like multiple franchises. Today, the role of Apostle is displayed in many different ways. Although not a traditional definition, in many cases there are church consultants that help many churches with specific spiritual problem areas. These are the people who God has gifted and given them the wisdom and authority to make a difference. Some modern apostles/leaders are in charge of multiple “garden” plantings.”
With that said, let me through in the three passages I’m founding this message on.
