Double Portion: God AND Jesus in You

A lot of people miss this point but at the same time it is one of the most talking about kingdom ideas in the Body of Christ—the Double Portion Anointing!

What is this double portion? How does it work? How to I know I have it? When do I get it? Is it for everyone or just the superstar saints? And here was my personal question that no one else was asking that led me to teaching it in this lesson, “What role does the double portion play in relationship to the 30fold, 60fold, and 100fold principle?”

This question was the revelation that I needed that God gave me to close out this message! This is SO cool! So pay very close attention to this!

Let’s start to the most famous passage on this principle in the Bible, which most think that it is the only place where it is taught! WRONG! Let’s read it!

“And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a DOUBLE [Heb: ‘two-fold’] PORTION [Heb: ‘the mouth (as the means of blowing), specifically edge, portion; appointment, two-edged’] OF THY SPIRIT BE UPON ME. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou SEE me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, MY FATHER, MY FATHER, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also THE MANTLE [Heb: ‘something ample (as a large vine, a wide dress); also the same as 145 (which is, ‘amplitude, i.e. (concrete) a mantle; also (figuratively) splendor:--goodly, robe’):--garment, glory, goodly, mantle, robe.’] of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; and he took THE MANTLE of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit [the OFFICIAL AUTHORITY] of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.” (2nd Kings 2:9-15).

My dictionary defines this word, “mantle” as, “an important role or responsibility that passes from one person to another.”

The mantle IS the double portion. But that still does not explain what it is or answer the question we asked above. Keep reading. We are going to arrive together and figure out this double portion and mantle thing.
