FL Pastor Sues Sheriff’s Office After Being Arrested for Illegally Giving People Homes

If you asked Pastor Tami Robinson how she ended up being arrested for what has been called illegal  activity, she would say that she was just doing God’s work.

Robinson moved people into two abandoned homes by filing paperwork with the Property Appraiser’s Office and then changing the locks on the door and giving the key to the new residents.

While Robinson says that the people she gave the homes to were st

huckabee-embed-8-23-12.jpg
Speaking on Fox News on Tuesday evening, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) was asked about the racial divide in vote tallies between those who support President Obama and those who support Mitt Romney.

"I don't see it as all that shocking," Huckabee said. "I mean, typically people of color vote Democratic anyway. So that's not all that unusual. It's rare for Republicans to get a significant portion of minority vote. It shouldn't be. I think Republicans have done a pathetic job of rea

Use President Obama's New Four Year Term as a Time Marker To Do Something Great with Your Life

BCNN1-editors-article-5.jpg

During Biblical times, in ancient near eastern cultures, the calendar was controlled by the beginning of the reign of a king. People would date their lives by which king was ruling. For example, in the book of Daniel, the Bible reads: "In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum

There is a scenario in which former Lakers coach Phil Jackson would consider returning for a third stint with the team, sources said late Friday, but it will require executive VP Jim Buss once again relinquishing the organizational reins - and this time handing them to J

Good or bad?  The president has been depicted as Napoleon on the latest issue of Newsweek.   The president’s latest victory is sure to give him a lot of magazine covers, and the Republicans certainly thought the election was going to be his Waterloo.  But whether they like it or not, the president is going to be here another four years, so they might as well get used to it.

Newsweek has depicted Barack Obama with a rainbow-flag halo before. Now, in the wake of the president’s reelection, the m

Professor Cornel West and Tavis Smiley are planning to hold a symposium on poverty on January 17th, right before President Obama’s inauguration.  During an interview with Democracy Now, West says that the black prophetic tradition has reawakened, and that there is a growing resurgence of the black prophetic tradition that doesn’t look at politics solely through the lens of race or in the interests of the black elite..

President Obama’s victory in the last election was met with intense celebra

David Siegel, a man who is nearly a billionaire, is clearly anti-Obama.   Siegel even went as far as sending a letter to all of his employees at Westgate Resorts, explaining why they shouldn’t vote for Barack Obama.  Of course his efforts didn’t work, but he isn’t going to stop trying to undermine the president.   Siegel even said that if President Obama were re-elected, he would consider retiring to the Carribean and leaving the United States altogether.

But Seigel has decided not to leave th

23rd-bond-film-skyfall.jpg
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series. Maybe that's why the 23rd official Bond film, Skyfall, spends so much time defending old things, old methods, and old ideas. In fact, a variation of "Sometimes old ways are the best" is said almost any time the explosions let up--and that exact phrase is repeated at least twice.

This heavy-handed argument may come off as grumpily defensive to some--Get off 007's lawn!--but it seems intended to be a declaration for the series'

By ReAsOn DiSciPLe

Introduction

If you read and study 1st Samuel 16:14-23, it is the passage that talks about the evil spirit of the Lord coming upon King Saul. Saul’s servants recommend that they find someone to play to take away the evil spirit. Then they suggest the son of Jesse, shepherd boy David to come down and play on his harp.

They list some qualities about him, whic

looters-will-be-shot-SUPERSTORM-SANDY.jpg

Superstorm Sandy exposed the true nature of the people in its path, bringing out tales of hope and heroism -- as well as stories of callous cruelty.
Looting, price gouging and misguided rage all compounded the unprecedented storm, and left many folks shaking their heads and wondering just how low people could sink. Gas was siphoned from cars, criminals posed as relief workers, cruel thieves picked through the unprotected possessions of neighbors who had lost nearly everything. Utility cre

4798At what he billed as the last campaign event of his political career, President Obama dove into nostalgia here, tying together stories of his early 2008 campaign with a future he hopes includes a second four years in the White House.

Obama, appearing on stage with his wife for the first time since the day after the Democratic National Convention, spoke from a lectern just yards from his original Iowa campaign headquarters.

He even told the unabridged version of the origin of his ubiquitous

"I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:1-4, NASB).

Prayers for people who are in positions of authority have high priority in the heart of God. We see this in Scripture, such

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed FEMA and President Barack Obama on Monday over the response to super storm Sandy-inflicted damages, saying the emergency agency is failing as badly to as it did during Katrina.

"The response since the time the president got all this praise and credit and press ops has been abysmal," Giuliani said on Fox News Channel's "America's Newsroom." "FEMA is as much a failure now as at the time of Katrina."
