Moist Duncan Hines Banana Supreme Cake Mix with walnuts and coconut delivers a tropical island flavor to your very own kitchen with this Jamaican Banana Cake.
Ingredients
Cake:
1 package Signature Banana Cake Mix
½ cup walnuts
Topping:
¾ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup butter flavored shortening
2 tbsp. milk
1 cup flaked coconut
⅓ cup walnuts
Baking Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 13×9-inch pan.
- Combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl.
- Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in ½ cup walnuts by hand. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 33 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Combine brown sugar, shortening, milk and coconut in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until shortening is melted. Evenly spread over warm cake.
- Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool cake on wire rack for 15 minutes. Serve warm or room temperature.
