Christafari to release first worship album in 20 years

Gospel reggae veterans Christafari are working on a new worship album.
The album, which will be the band’s first worship album in 20 years, will be funded in part by fans.
Since the beginning of March fans have been pledging funds on Kickstarter to help with the production of the album.
Some of the things fans will receive for supporting Christafari’s kickstarter campaign include an advance-release digital download of the finished album, an autographed CD, surf lessons with Mark Mohr, lifetime backstage passes to Christafari concerts , a Reggae Worship shirt, a mention in the album credit or a personal “thank you” phone call from Mark Mohr and Avion Blackman.
The funds Christafari raises on Kickstarter will be used to record drum tracks in the studio, for song licensing and for CD manufacturing.
Christafari frontman Mark Mohr said that the album will be a mix of well-loved worship songs and a couple of original songs.
“We've demoed every single track, which means that we have finished all keyboards and have rough vocals, drum loops, the basic song structure and the main melody ideas down,” he wrote on the band’s Kickstarter campaign page.
“All the songs have been selected. Right now we are at 16 tracks, but may be forced to drop one or two in order to fit them all on one CD. This week we finished vocals on the first song, the title track "Roots Revival." We're thinking of calling the album "Reggae Worship: a Roots Revival.’”
So far, with just a week left in the campaign, Christafari are just a thousand dollars short of their 10 thousand dollar goal.
