Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said the arrest of a 14-year-old boy who brought a clock to school — a Muslim who teachers mistakenly suggested may have had a bomb — underscores the need to focus on discrimination against Christians.

“The biggest discrimination going on in America is against Christian business owners,” he said.

“Let’s talk about the Christian florists, the caterers, the musicians” who refuse to serve same-sex couples because of religious objections, said Jindal. “Don’t shut down our businesses … for believing marriage is between a man and a woman.”

Jindal said no one should be discriminated against because of the color of their skin but he urged Muslim leaders to more explicitly call out radicalism and name perpetrators of violence.

“I don’t think a 14-year-old should ever get arrested for bringing a clock to school,” he said, adding, “I’m glad the police are careful.”
