The rapper edges closer to releasing his ‘Yeezus’ follow-up after sharing new LP title, potential album cover

Kanye West has spent the past week in Europe promoting an “80-percent done” new album that didn’t have an album title or a release date. However, the rapper cleared up one of those questions last night on Twitter when he revealed that his upcoming Yeezus follow-up would be titled So Help Me God. West’s tweet was accompanied by an image that could be So Help Me God’s album cover: a diamond shape connected at the points by four lower-case m’s that Reddit discovered is a 13th century monastic symbol for the Virgin Mary.

Earlier this week, West debuted his fiery new track “All Day” at the 2015 Brit Awards, then followed that up with a pair of “Only One” performances on both the U.K.’s The Jonathan Ross Show and Sweden’s Skavlan. Along the way, West chatted with BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe about his new album. “It’s fun to work hard. We’re being inventive,” West said. “The College Dropout came out of a fight to rap. This new album is coming out of a fight to design.” The rapper also compared his latest music to the hymn “Amazing Grace” because of its focus on “the beauty of the struggle;” the album’s title plays into that theme as well.

While West did finally offer up his new album title, don’t expect a release date any time soon: In an interview earlier this month with New York hip-hop station Power 105, the rapper said that release dates are “100 percent played out” and that his new LP would arrive in a “surprise” fashion like Beyoncé’s Beyoncé and Drake’s new If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
