Riva Tims has dropped her lawsuit against New Destiny Christian Center, less an a week after contending that she was the rightful heir to the Apopka megachurch she co-founded with her husband Zachery Tims in 1996.

Tims posted a message on her Facebook page conceding that her 30-page divorce agreement with Zachery in 2008 contained a stipulation that she would not sue the church.
In her lawsuit filed last Thursday, Tims argued that the church bylaws made her the legal successor to Tims, who died in August at age 42. The cause of death has not been released.
After Riva Tims left New Destiny, she founded her own church, Majestic Life Ministries in Lockhart.

A team of scholars has discovered what might be the oldest representation of the Tower of Babel of Biblical fame, they report in a newly published book.
Image: Detail of the Tower of Babel stele, with the engraving of King Nebuchadnezzar II. (Copyright The Schøyen Collection, MS 2063).

Carved on a black stone, which has already been dubbed the Tower of Babel stele, the inscription dates to 604-562 BCE.
It was found in the collection of Martin Schøyen, a businessman from Norway who owns the largest private manuscript assemblage formed in the 20th century.
Consisting of 13,717 manuscript items spanning over‭ ‬5,000‭ ‬years, the collection includes parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient Buddhist manuscript rescued from the Taliban, and even cylcon symbols by Australia's Aborigines which can be up to 20,000 years old.
The collection also includes a large number of pictographic and cuneiform tablets -- which are some of the earliest known written documents -- seals and royal inscription spanning most of the written history of Mesopotamia, an area near modern Iraq.

Editor's Note: The following is excerpted from "The T.D. Jakes Relationship Bible: Life Lessons on Relationships from the Inspired Word of God."

The Bible, the world's most read book, sets forth the greatest story ever told. It is a love story unlike no other, underscored by the countless demonstrations of God's love for man.
The cross is one of the world's most visibly recognized icons with its vertically pointing element representing this quintessential union between God and man. It is the intersecting horizontal plane symbolizing the day-to-day relationships among humans that especially benefit from the guidance found in the "Inspired Word of God."
After 35 years in ministry and 30 years of marriage to Serita Jakes, Bishop T.D. Jakes has outlined key life lessons learned from these two great institutions. Six sample "Lessons from the Heart" from The Relationship Bible follow:
1. Overcoming Our Differences in Relationships.
The art of relationships requires that a man who is very different from his woman finds common ground with her and vice versa. We are meant to balance each other by attracting people whose strengths may be our weaknesses. Together as a result of our differences and unique distinctions, we complement each other. Understanding only comes when you stand under a real desire to know, love, and comprehend the other person, embracing the uniqueness of who they are.
2. Healthy Relationships Require Emotional and Spiritual Freedom.
You often won't know what you have, let alone need, in your life until you clear the mental and emotional room to experience the here and now. We don't have to stay buried under the past or cycles of mistakes, even though it may seem insurmountable. You can move on with your life. You have to keep your mental and emotional house clean and in order. Praying, journaling, mediation, and exercise are common ways for you to be sure your emotional issues of the past aren't seeping into your current relationships.
3. It Takes Courage to Really Love Someone.
Deciding to love gets harder as you get older. It's more and more difficult to fall in love because your "faller" gets broken. We've all had relationships that didn't work out for one reason or another. The loss of a relationship can be a traumatic experience and can affect us in our lives for months and sometimes for years. You need to understand what role you played in the relationship's demise, and work to come to peace with your partner's behavior as well as your own. No matter what has happened to you, the only hope of a healthy future relationship is to let go of the past.

Till the DJ's Gone deals with mass media using radio as the point object. On the record JUMA talks about God being the "DJ" at the end of the song while the choruses throughout say, "Until the DJ's gone turn the radio off". In other words, if God's the DJ than the "radio", or negative impacting media, stays off in perpetuity. We Don't Really Care picks up where Till the DJ's Gone leaves off and somewhat goes at cultural phenomenon forwarded through media systems a little more directly.

JUMA's hope is to start a conversation and heighten awareness around agenda setting - the communications theory that posits that media may not necessarily tell us what to think, but certainly what to think about - and its broader implications.

JUMA feels it is a valuable dialogue to have, especially for the church. It's something that we definitely talk about in the body, but he is wanting to make a contribution that was a bit more sociopolitical and to inspire activism in accordance with our faith.

“Unwired” is a EP Music project that will encourage and help young people to find out what their identity & purpose is. In order to achieve this, there are a numerous of stages which needs to take place. The 1st process is “Un-wiring” yourself from anything that could be a stumbling block for you to have a personal releationship with God. After that 1st stage, a second process takes place in the heart of a man which is called “Regenertaion”, which takes the supernatual power of the comforter (holy spirit) to restore man to its original state. What happens after the music stops? The 3rd and final stage is called “Santification”, which is a day by day process to live like Christ through the holy spirit.

Faith-D uses music as an evangelical tool to communicate the good news, but in order to communicate that good news effectively through music, a good budget needs to be in place. The funding we hope to receive from you will strictly go to paying producers to produce good quality beats, studio time (recording sessions), mixing & and mastering and a documentary which will show you everything that took place while doing this EP i.e. Faith-D in the studio recording his songs, mixing process, collaborating artists in the studios and many more.

Please help support this project, by giving any amount you can. We pray that as you give with a generous heart, the fruits from this EP will be your portion!

ted-haggard-gary-busey-celebrity-wife-swap.jpg

Ted Haggard, the former head of the National Association of Evangelicals who resigned five years ago following a gay sex scandal, will be featured in Tuesday's ABC premier of "Celebrity Wife Swap." Haggard told The Christian Post that he hopes the show will "communicate hope" and show the world that his family has "resurrected" from its dark past.

"I don't think there's anybody that I know of that more reflects the resurrection of Christ than I do right now," Haggard said. "After what we've been through, the way Christ has healed us and restored us and built our family and blessed us, it's a wonderful story of resurrection and encouragement and God's faithfulness and the faithfulness of the Scriptures and the church."
In addition to the NAE, Haggard resigned from his position at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, a megachurch he and his wife, Gayle, founded, after a male prostitute accused Haggard of paying him for sex over a three year period. Haggard was also accused of using illegal drugs during his meetings with the prostitute.
Since the scandal, Haggard has been open to the public about his fall from grace and says he has come out of it a changed and better man. His relationship with his wife of more than 30 years is also now stronger than ever, he has said.
"Celebrity Wife Swap" paired up Haggard for one week with Steffanie Sampson, the fiancee of Academy Award-nominated actor Gary Busey, while Gayle spent the week with Busey.
The two couples make an interesting religious combination. The Haggards are evangelical Christians who currently lead Saint James Church and the Buseys follow New Age philosophies, including reincarnation. Busey and Sampson believe they are married in spirit and are currently in their 32nd lifetime together.

Hundreds of millions of Christians have suffered discrimination or even persecution in lands as diverse as China and India, but mostly in countries where Islam is the top religion.

Despite this, persecution of Christians is one topic the American public doesn't hear much about. One possible reason: an anti-Christian bias among Western elites.
These Western elites often control the media and educational institutions that spread information to the general public.
But they rarely cover or discuss the reality that Christians may well be the most persecuted religious group on the planet. It has been estimated that Christians number some 2.2 billion people. Harassment of them can range from loss of life to loss of livelihood.

Why is Lady Gaga (arguably) more popular among young Americans than Ben Bernanke?

How is that the Kardashians are in the news more than the legislative debate over Net Neutrality?

Till the DJ’s Gone encourages you to question your media with the story of a man who becomes aware of a secret system of control at work in his world – by way of cryptic, nefarious messages hidden in plain view of unseeing masses – and takes action against it. He builds a makeshift communication device to hack into the media “master signal” and awaken unconscious minds with a message of liberation and hope
