Next Generation iPad and iPad Mini Arrive In March

Apple has typically kept their refresh cycles to once a year or perhaps a little longer, but could it be that moving forward, they will be accelerating their refresh timelines for certain products. In regards to the iPad 5 and the iPad mini, new rumours seem to indicate that this in fact is the case.

Let the war of the giant screens begin. Huawei went big–real big–with the Ascend Mate: A 6.1-inch screen and 4050mAh battery headline for the Ascend Mate, along with a long list of features like Magic Touch and Smart Reading that will put the device in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2.

ces-mobile

If you’re going to do something, you might as well do it big. That appears to be the strategy Huawei has taken when creating its newest line of smartphones. The biggest of them all, the Ascend Mate, made its debut on the CES 2013 stage today. With a 6.1-inch (6.1-inch!) screen, the device will immediately draw comparisons to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 — a challenge Huawei seems to welcome.

The Ascend Mate isn’t just a big screen, but the device itself is mostly screen. With a 0.73 screen-to-frame ratio and 9.9mm thickness, Huawei is wasting little space on this device. Every part of that 6.1-inch screen will be sending through a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, touting 316 pixels per inch.

Providing power for that display will be a battery bigger than any rumor was able to guess: A 4050mAh battery, the largest such battery in a mobile device we know of. While that battery is huge, it also won’t be drained easily. With the heelp of a patented technology, Automatic Discontinuous Perception, the Ascend Mate consumes 20% less power. CEO Richard Yu also bragged of 25 percent less time charging compared to the Galaxy Note II.

Aside from the size, the Ascend Mate has quite a few other features centered around the screen that should intrigue. A feature called Magic Touch makes the touchscreen function even if a user is wearing gloves. Richard Yu placed his tie between his hand and the screen and was still able to operate the device.

Displayed on the screen of the Mate are several new user interface elements. Starting with the One Hand UI, owners of the handset will have the capability to shift elements like the keyboard or dial pad to another side of the screen, making it usable with one hand. Another of the UI innovations is Easy Panel, which allows apps to float over other apps, giving access to multiple apps and information inside them at the same time.

lance-armstrong-apologizes-to-STAFF.jpg

Lance Armstrong apologized to the staff of Livestrong Monday prior to an afternoon interview taping with Oprah Winfrey in which he planned to admit to doping during his cycling career.
Livestrong spokesman Katherine McLane said it was a "very sincere and heartfelt apology to the staff."
Livestong, a charity based in Austin, Texas, was founded by Armstrong to provide support to cancer survivors. It has been entangled in the controversy surrounding Armstrong's cycling career during the last few years. In October, Armstrong was forced to step down from the Livestrong board after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a massive file of detailed doping evidence against him.
Armstrong, 41, has denied doping for years. The Oprah interview is scheduled to air Thursday.

4798Deflecting criticism about a perceived lack of diversity in his second-term Cabinet, President Barack Obama on Monday urged Americans not to rush to judgment about who he will appoint to replace departing members of his team.

In a declaration tinged with the rhetoric of his re-election campaign, Obama asserted: "We're not going backwards, we're going forward."
Scrutiny has been mounting over the number of women and minorities that will surround the nation's first black president in his second term. Cabinet members who are departing at the end of his first term - including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton - are being replaced largely by white males. But in the final White House news conference of his first term, Obama brushed off that criticism, asking for critics to hold their tongues until the remaining vacancies have been filled.
"I'm very proud that in the first four years, we had as diverse, if not a more diverse, White House and a Cabinet than any in history," Obama said. "I intended to continue that, because it turns out when you look for the very best people, given the incredible diversity of this country, you're going to end up with a diverse staff."
Running through a list of high-profile positions filled by women during his first term - such as Clinton and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius - Obama said women comprised 50 percent of his White House staff during his first four years, not to mention the two women he nominated to fill Supreme Court vacancies.
Still, Obama's appeal for patience was unlikely to quell the concerns of members of his own party who have publicly fretted whether Obama's Cabinet and the tight cadre of advisers who will have his ear over the next four years will end up almost entirely male and white, in stark contrast to the diverse coalition of women, Hispanics and minorities that helped give Obama a second term.
"It's as embarrassing as hell," Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., one of the longest-serving African-American members of Congress, said last week.
Obama nominated Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry to replace Clinton at the State Department after U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who is black, asked for her name to be removed from consideration. Republicans had blasted Rice over her initial comments about the attacks on Americans in Benghazi, Libya.
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, who is Hispanic, stepped down last week, adding to a list of departures that includes EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, who is black. Obama has not yet announced who he will nominate to fill those roles. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is staying for Obama's second term.
The president has announced his picks to fill two other top jobs, nominating former Sen. Chuck Hagel to run the Defense Department and Obama's chief of staff, Jack Lew, to serve as treasury secretary. The two leading candidates to replace Lew at the White House are both male.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Eric Holder, who is black, and Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, who is of Japanese-American descent, will stay on, a White House official said last week. A spokesman for Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Monday that he too will keep his job in Obama's second term.
An Education Department official also said Secretary Arne Duncan would remain in President Barack Obama's Cabinet into a second term. That official disclosed the decision on the condition of anonymity because a public announcement had not been made.

Back into 2007, the first Apple iPhone model was launched, bringing a new level of innovation to the smartphone market. This is led to Apple becoming one of the dominant forces in the mobile phone industry today, with its iOS powered handsets being among the most iconic consumer technology products ever released. Back in September 2012, the latest version was released, called the iPhone 5. As was predicted, it quickly became a popular choice. Although some critics and consumers alike feel that the phone has fallen short of the mark in terms of innovation over its predecessor, it is still widely regarded as one of the most impressive phones on the market.

Recently there have been a number of rumours circulating around the internet regarding the next instalment of the iPhone series. Some people believe that the iPhone 5S will be launched later this year allowing Apple to fix problems with the current iPhone 5 model, while others are suggesting an iPhone 6 which would allow Apple to produce a brand new device and no doubt use it as an opportunity to outdo competitors in terms of specifications. According to an analyst at Strategy Analytics called Neil Mawson, Apple may be in the process of developing a more compact iPhone model. Mawson says that such a device could launch in 2014, as by this time Apple phones will have reached a saturation point in the market so Apple will be looking for alternative revenue streams. Find all the latest iPhone 5 News on our website along with iPhone 5 Price Comparison.

By producing an iPhone Mini, which could be offered a more affordable price point, Apple would be able to offer a product to consumers in emerging markets who may not have the same levels of disposable income as those in developed markets. Budget Android smartphones from manufacturers like Samsung account for hundreds of millions of sales in emerging markets, so this is a vast revenues source that Apple is missing out on currently.

While many people doubt that Apple would create an iPhone Mini, bear in mind that people said the same about iPad, but iPad Mini was launched last year. Of course, Apple also makes the iPod Nano, a scaled down version of its market leading portable music player.

Whether or not Apple launches a new iPhone Mini remains to be seen. If we hear of any developments regarding such a device, we will be sure to keep you updated, as well as inform you of any news about an iPhone 5S or iPhone 6.

220px-Talented_10th.jpg

I’m going to be 100 percent real with you. This album is not for every Christian. This is next level Hip Hop that will challenge your mind. It’s like reading a book. If you like swagged out trap music you will be disappointed. I’m just being honest. Talented 10th is Sho Baraka’s first full album since he left Reach Records and became an independant artist and I really feel it’s his best work yet!

Let me give you some background. The phrase "talented tenth" was first used in 1896 by Northern white liberals like the American Baptist Home Mission Society. They wanted to build black colleges to train Negro teachers. Later, W. E. B. Du Bois used the term to title an essay he wrote and published in September 1903.

Talented 10th is more sonically diverse than his last album, "Lions and Liars". The production is complexed but it's still simple and focused if that makes since. Lyrically, Sho is very blunt and raw. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear. He tells you what you need to hear. The album cover is designed to look like a book and his tracks aren’t tracks but chapters.

“I didn't want this to just be seen as another Hip Hop album. I wanted it to be seen as something that was both artistic from the expression that is creative and not trying to be like every other album. Even from how I title each song, how it’s listed and the [design of the] album cover. I wanted this to be an experience of education as well as entertaining... I want to educate as well as entertain in a creative way.”*

The album has two sides, part Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., part Malcolm X. So listening to this joint will give you peace but also give you a sense of urgency. That sense of urgency starts from the first song “Bethesda ft. L.I.B.E.R.T.Y & J.K” In the bible, Bethesda is a pool in Jerusalem that was believed have had healing powers. Sho uses this song to talk about the power of healing in different situations like the death of good artistry, the flesh, and street violence. The song uses a sample from the negro spiritual "Wade in the Water" which refers to healing: see John 5:4, "For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

“The concept of the song is the whole wade in the water. There’s a lot of strain out there, theres a lot of struggle, there’s a lot of hurt. The thought process is hold on because there’s a healing coming. Ultimately we believe that Christ brings the healing. But I’m not just trying to say trust in Christ like in a sense that Jesus makes all things perfect. I’m saying though Christ there’s healing. And there’s many different areas of how Christ heals. Things won't be perfect but there is joy, there is fruit, there's love and there's peace in our Lord but you have to wade in that water sometimes”.*

This track is deep. Definitely one of my favorite joints on the album.

Another one of my favorite songs is “Michael.” The beat has an epic feel to it and the bars are razor sharp.

“On and on I know life goes, I’m on the death of a Michael, not Jackson but am missing in action…watch it burn baby burn, my coach is going down…”

“My hood needs more fathers and less bachelors, introduce him to the father no more bastards…”

“They may heard of our God but why bother they heard hell Marys but never knew our fathers, have they heard of the love of Christ , is heaven so far it’s outta sight?…”

“She promised a hell of a night, all I can think to myself is how Lucifer right, brothas in the club throwin you some bucks how about the same brothas throwin you some trust…baby girl you mistaken your own value, your only worth the idol you bow down to”

The song deals with people who are lost, looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places, and how that can destroy us.

On “Denzel” Sho, with a little help from Chantae Cann & Suzy Rock attack the idea of swag head up. The Song reminds me of one of my favorite bible verses, 1 Corinthians 13:11: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Swagg is for kids. “Denzel” explains what characteristics a classy individual would have. The production and instrumentation is on point too.

Jim Crow” is a song that takes this album to a different level in more than one way. It’s heavy and deep. It’s not for everyone but it's raw truth. I’m telling you now, LISTEN WITH CAUTION, but with an open heart and an open mind. Jim Crow was the name of the racial system of laws in the south, between 1877 and the mid-1960s. But it was more than laws, It was a way of life. Under Jim Crow, African Americans were second class citizens. Many Christian ministers and theologians taught that whites were the chosen people, blacks were cursed to be servants, and God supported racial segregation. Sho get’s into issues church folk are scared to talk about.

“There’s a reproduction of ignorance and prejudice that is propagated in our country and if you accept it you will be stuck in this place that I call Ni**a island, or colored island. And the goal is to escape that or not find refuge, because that place is full of ignorance and there’s no real hope there.”*

As impressed as I was with this project, it’s not perfect. I wasn't a huge fan of “Mrs.” Featuring JR. To me It just felt like a throwaway track from Common’s Universal Mind Control (thats an album Common dropped a few years ago that was produced by The Neptunes).

The Talented Tenth is a Masterpiece. The production is on point. Blue, Swoope, ALi, theBeatBreaker, Blue, and JR come together to give us more than a bunch of beats. The production is creative and it even pays homage to classic Hip Hop. The lyrics are well crafted and delivered with precise aim at our minds. This is Hip Hop that you don’t see many people delivering nowadays (other than Humble Beast and very few others). And I know in time it will be considered a classic.

ASUS is launching a 150-dollar tablet for emerging markets and frugal customers everywhere, but is it worth the investment compared to other low-cost tablets?

CES may be done, but Asus isn’t. Two days after the annual trade show ended, it has announced the MeMo Pad, an Android tablet that will cost a mere $150.

The MeMo Pad, as stated in a Asus press release, has been released as an answer to “Changing market conditions”, which we think is a code word for lower prices. So far, several low-cost tablets are entering or already on the market in 2013, such as Acer’s own Iconia tablet.

At a modest $150, you could probably guess this tablet is not coming to a store near you with the latest and greatest hardware. Despite this, Asus has worked hard to cram a ton of features and fairly decent hardware into this device. With a 1GHz processor, the CPU of the MeMo Pad is certainly not turning heads, but Asus is throwing in a standard 7-inch display, 1GB of RAM, and your choice of 8 or 16 GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card to maximize your investment. The real treat is that this tablet will come with Android Jelly Bean, rather than the now-dated taste of Ice Cream Sandwich, not to mention three different casing colors for your own personal flair. With an advertised 7-hour battery life, Asus isn’t going overboard in the battery department, but still giving decent performance. This tablet may not catch glances anywhere beyond its price and color options, but certainly no complaints either.

Compared to other tablets on the market, the MeMo Pad certainly isn’t the cheapest you can get, but it certainly is (along with Acer and a few others) one of the cheapest tablets you can get with a real brand name. The MeMo Pad is probably a good choice against Acer’s Iconia or any other brand-name 150 dollar tablet – not that there are many others out there to begin with. You certainly can’t do much better with a price like that. Asus has plans to launch it sometime in January to emerging markets, but you can grab in America some time in April – even if it will be grossly outdated by then.

usp-nfl_-nfc-divisional-round-seattle-seahawks-at-4_3_r536_c534.jpg
This is a different bunch of Atlanta Falcons, all right, one lucky bunch as they stand two wins from hoisting a Lombardi Trophy different after surviving a furious second-half Seattle Seahawks comeback to finally get over their postseason hump.

Maybe it's fitting that they had to withstand another, oh-so-close postseason meltdown to exorcise their 0-for-3 playoff demons (since 2008) on Matt Bryant's 49-yard field goal in a 30-28 divisional-round escape for the ages.
It took five years and a harrowing, Russell Wilson-led comeback from 27-7 for quarterback Matt Ryan and coach Mike Smith to shed three year's worth of playoff frustration and national doubt like an 800-pound silverback lifted off their shoulders.
Ryan's three-touchdown passing backed by a rugged run game and rock-solid defense stopped the gritty, fifth-seeded Seahawks. But only after Ryan hit Harry Douglas for 22 yards and then hit Tony Gonzalez for 19 yards to set up Bryant's game-winner with 8 seconds to go. Receiver Julio Jones played free safety, intercepting Wilson's 48-yard Hail Mary heave into the end zone to end the game.
A clearly emotional Gonzalez wandered onto the field after the final whistle, enjoying the first playoff victory of his 16-year career.
The top-seed Falcons will host the San Francisco 49ers in next Sunday's NFC Championship Game inside the Georgia Dome after getting their first playoff win since 2004 in dramatic, implausible fashion.
Those three Ryan touchdown passes seemed fitting -- one to help erase each of his previous three playoff failures as he finally claimed postseason redemption.
Coming in, Ryan had thrown for an average of just 194.7 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions for a 71.2 passer rating in his three, one-and-done postseason eliminations.
This time, Ryan fired for 250 yards and three touchdowns to overcome his two interceptions.

Gospel recording artist, screenwriter, and actor Deitrick Haddon has a strong contingent of loyal fans, many of which were left reeling after news hit last year that he and his wife of 15 years, Damita, had quietly divorced.
Now, many supporters are struggling to process the most recent news that he has fathered a baby girl with an unidentified woman he is currently engaged to marry.
With reactions ranging from shock, disdain, and encouragement, EEW Magazine's editors have sifted through wide-ranging responses from readers, with a vast majority expressing disbelief and dismay.
Most were made aware of the explosive news as it popped up on their Twitter timelines and Facebook feeds, after Haddon, as is his custom, used his social networking sites as personal journals.
Thus far, it is confirmed that his new fiancée is a twenty-something Los Angeles woman who is also the mother of Haddon's daughter, Angel Destin Monet.

Add Grammy-winning R&B singer Fantasia to the growing list of musical acts heading to New Orleans Super Bowl weekend.
Sherri Shepherd, host of ABC's "The View," and Grammy-winning gospel musician Kirk Franklin, are hosting the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration with performances by Fantasia, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Winans and Bishop Paul S. Morton of New Orleans.
The NFL-sanctioned event is in its 14th year and will be held at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans on Friday, Feb. 1. The game will be played at the Superdome on Feb. 3 with Beyonce as the halftime performer.
Dozens of local acts will perform on stages spread along the city's Mississippi River and in its downtown Jackson Square all weekend.
The gospel celebration will include a performance by this year's NFL "Players' Choice" hip-hop Christian artist Lecrae, as well as the NFL Players Choir, composed of about 40 current and former players.
The show, sponsored by American Family Insurance, will be taped in front of a live audience and will be syndicated for television broadcast.
Since the event's launch in 1999, the gospel celebration has donated a portion of its proceeds and more than 4,000 tickets to local and national charities.
Ticket prices start at $40, and this year's benefactors include the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, founded by New Orleans Saints player Malcolm Jenkins, and The Sharper Kids Foundation, founded by Darren Sharper - a former Saints player and brother to former Seattle Seahawks player Jamie Sharper.

jerry-sandusky-seeks-APPEAL.jpg
Jerry Sandusky gets a shot at regaining some of his freedom Thursday, when his lawyers launch an appeal to reverse his conviction on multiple counts of child sex abuse.
The coach was sentenced in October to no less than 30 years and no more than 60 years in prison for abusing 10 boys during a 15-year period. He originally faced the possibility of up to a 400-year prison term.
The former Penn State assistant football coach will appear at the Center County court in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, where his legal team will make a "post-sentence motion."
Judge John Cleland, who presided over Sandusky's conviction and sentencing will not rule on it until a yet-unannounced future date.
Sandusky's lawyers argue that there was insufficient evidence to convict him, and that the court didn't allow them enough time to prepare for trial, after the prosecution flooded them with documentation.
They also maintain that certain counts were too broad and general and should therefore have been dismissed. The lack of specifics further prevented Sandusky from preparing an adequate defense, they have said.
But Cleland could easily rule that evidence presented at the criminal trial was so overwhelming -- the victims' testimony, for instance -- that it would not have changed the end result, said Karl Rominger, one of Sandusky's lawyers.
The eight victims who testified, now young men, said that they were boys when Sandusky forced them to engage in sexual acts with him. The acts occurred, they said, in showers in Penn State's athletic facilities; hotel rooms; and the basement of Sandusky's home, among other places.
Testimony was often emotional and graphic, and jurors convicted him of 45 of the 48 sexual abuse counts.
This first attempt to overturn the conviction based on ineffective counsel, a common appeals tactic, will be tough, his lawyers have said, but if the court rejects it, they can launch new appeals based on different aspects of the law.
"If you win on one of the appeal issues, everything probably falls," defense attorney Joe Amendola has said. "All we have to do is convince an appellate court that one of the issues we will raise is worthy of a reversal."

angus-t-jones-to-RETURN-to-two-and-a-half-men.jpg

The young star had told fans to stop watching his series in a YouTube video.
The half is back.
Angus T. Jones, whose future on CBS comedy Two and a Half Men was thrown into doubt in late November after he trashed his show on a viral YouTube video, is being welcomed home with open arms.
Men's creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre said Wednesday that Jones will be back shooting shortly. "He's coming back next week. He's part of our show. He's part of our family. We love him," Lorre said.
Speaking on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards, Lorre said he spoke with Jones after his comments. "I was concerned about him continuing with us, but he's entitled to his journey," he said. "He's a sweetheart. He's fine."
He continued: "He's 19, man. Cut him some slack."
Jones has played Jake Harper since the hit sitcom premiered in 2003, though he has had less screen time this season after his character enlisted.
In religious testimony given as a video interview with a small group called The Forerunner Chronicles in November, Jones said: "If you're watching Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I'm on Two and a Half Men. I don't want to be on it. ... Please stop filling your head with filth." The video, recorded in his trailer on the Warner Bros. lot, quickly went viral.
Soon after he expressed regret in a statement: "I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that," he says.

No One Elected to MLB Hall of Fame

bonds-4_3_r560.jpg
Steroid suspicions or not, nobody convinced baseball writers they belong in the Hall of Fame.

While the ongoing backlash over baseball's most controversial era left little doubt Barry Bonds and Rogers Clemens would fall short in the voting announced today, 3,060 hits weren't enough to get Craig Biggio the required 75% of ballots cast.
Biggio's 68% (388 of the 569 votes) came the closest in the first shutout by the Baseball Writers Association of America since 1996. Bonds and Clemens, like Biggio on the ballot for the first time, weren't even close, with Clemens receiving 37.6% and Bonds getting 36.2%.
"That's ridiculous," Jeff Bagwell, Biggio's long-time Houston Astros teammate, told Mark Berman of Houston TV station KRIV. "You're talking about 3,000 hits and you don't get in on the first ballot. That sucks."
Bagwell, on the ballot for the third time, made the biggest year-to-year gain. He received 59.6%, up from 56%.
Thus, the July 28 induction ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y., will be limited to the three honorees chosen in December by the Veterans Committee - former Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert, early-20th Century umpire Hank O'Day and 19th Century catcher Deacon White. All are deceased, so descendants will take part of the ceremony.
Other notable first-time candidates who fell short were catcher Mike Piazza (57.8%), pitcher Curt Schilling (38.8%) and outfielder Sammy Sosa (12.5%).
"We are optimistic one day soon Mike's plaque, with a Mets cap, will be hanging in Cooperstown where it truly belongs," said New York Mets' COO Jeff Wilpon.

OPRAH-to-interview-lance-armstrong.jpg
Lance Armstrong has agreed to a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey where he will address allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career.
According to a release posted on Oprah's website on Tuesday, it's the first interview with Armstrong since his athletic career crumbled under the weight of a massive report by USADA detailing allegations of drug use by the famous cyclist and teammates on his U.S. Postal Service teams.
It's unclear if the interview at Armstrong's home in Austin, Texas, has already been taped. Nicole Nichols, a spokeswoman for Oprah Winfrey Network & Harpo Studios, declined comment.
The show will air at 9 p.m. EST on Jan. 17 on OWN and Oprah.com.
Armstrong has strongly denied the doping charges that led to him being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, but The New York Times reported Friday he has told associates he is considering admitting the use of PEDS.
The newspaper report cited anonymous sources, and Armstrong attorney Tim Herman told The Associated Press that night that he had no knowledge of Armstrong considering a confession.
Earlier Tuesday, "60 Minutes Sports" reported the head of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency told the show a representative for Armstrong offered the agency a "donation" in excess of $150,000 several years before an investigation by the organization led to the loss of Armstrong's Tour de France titles.
In an interview for the premiere airing on Showtime on Wednesday night, USADA CEO Travis Tygart said he was "stunned" when he received the offer in 2004.
"It was a clear conflict of interest for USADA," Tygart said. "We had no hesitation in rejecting that offer."
Herman denied such an offer was made.
"No truth to that story," Herman wrote Tuesday in an email to the AP. "First Lance heard of it was today. He never made any such contribution or suggestion."
Tygart was traveling and did not respond to requests from the AP for comment. USADA spokeswoman Annie Skinner said Tygart's comments from the interview were accurate. In it, he reiterates what he told the AP last fall: That he was surprised when federal investigators abruptly shut down their two-year probe into Armstrong and his business dealings, then refused to share any of the evidence they had gathered.
"You'll have to ask the feds why they shut down," Tygart told the AP. "They enforce federal criminal laws. We enforce sports anti-doping violations. They're totally separate. We've done our job."

Sure the Los Angeles Lakers are short-handed.
But a team with Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Metta World Peace should still play better than this.
James Harden scored 31 points and Chandler Parsons added 20 to help the Houston Rockets pick up their fifth straight win with a 125-112 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night
Houston trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but used a pair of runs in the third quarter to go on top and build a big lead.
World Peace had a season-high 24 points for the Lakers, who were playing without their top three big men: Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill - who are all out with injuries.
Bryant added 20 points for the Lakers and Nash had 16 points and 10 assists to become only the fifth player to surpass 10,000 career assists, joining John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Mark Jackson and Magic Johnson.
Nash said he tweaked his back in the game, but that he was OK.
"It's really hard to enjoy it right now," Nash said of the assists. "I don't want to discredit it, or not appreciate the company I share in this milestone, but right now it's the farthest thing from my mind. We're just trying to find a way to win one game."
The Lakers, who lost their fourth straight to fall to 15-19, are in 11th place in the Western Conference.
"I thought we had the better team," World Peace said. "We definitely had the better team, but every night we have the better team and it's just not translating to wins."
The Rockets have rallied from double-digit deficits for their last three wins. As usual, they did it on Tuesday night behind the strong play of Harden, who has scored at least 25 points in 13 straight games.
"They were short-handed tonight, but they are still tough," Harden said of the Lakers. "We knew we couldn't take them lightly. They did a great job in the first half of really getting easy shots on us. In the second half we started to pick it up defensively. We got out in transition and made some easy shots."
Howard has a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Gasol has a concussion and Hill a right hip injury. All three are out indefinitely. Seven-foot rookie center Robert Sacre made his first career start due to the injuries, and finished with 10 points, four blocked shots and three rebounds.
"We've just got to move forward," World Peace said. "We don't have time to feel bad for anyone. This team just has to push and move forward."
Jeremy Lin chipped in 19 points with six rebounds and five assists for Houston, and Carlos Delfino also scored 19.
The Rockets led by nine midway through the fourth quarter and used a 5-0 run highlighted by a three-point play by Lin to make it 112-98. Lin drove to the basket and made the layup as he fell to the court after being fouled by Sacre.
"There are some things we can clean up as a group and do a better job," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said. "A little more attention to detail and we'll do better."
Houston used a 10-2 spurt early in the third quarter to tie it at 69 after a three-point play by Marcus Morris with 6 1/2 minutes left in the quarter. The Rockets then broke off a 23-11 run to take a 92-80 lead near the end of the third. Lin had nine points in that span and Harden added six.
Bryant hit a jumper with about five minutes left in the third, and the Lakers didn't score another field goal until Chris Duhon made a 3-pointer with 48 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Houston led 96-88 at the end of the third quarter.
"Tonight we could offer up a number of excuses, but what is troubling is when we were healthy, we weren't stopping people, either," Nash said.
The Rockets were still down by six midway through the second quarter before a 7-0 run capped by a 3 from Delfino gave them their first lead of the game - 47-46 - about five minutes before halftime.
The game was tied a couple of minutes later when Nash scored five quick points to put the Lakers on top 56-51.
Los Angeles led 62-59 at halftime.
The Lakers led 18-4 early after a run where World Peace made two 3-pointers and Darius Morris made one. The Lakers were up by 13 later in the quarter before Houston used a 12-5 spurt powered by two 3s from Delfino to cut the lead to 34-28 at the end of the first quarter.

NOTES: Gasol was examined by a neurologist on Tuesday and was not cleared to play. He will be re-evaluated on Thursday. ... Harden's 13 straight games with at least 25 points are tied with Moses Malone for the such streak in franchise history. ... Delfino is shooting 61.3 percent from 3-point range in the last five games.

Robert Griffin III is having surgery on a torn ligament and to determine whether there's any other damage in his ailing right knee.
A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that the procedure was expected to last about two hours Wednesday morning. The person said orthopedist James Andrews planned to repair a torn lateral collateral ligament and examine the state of Griffin's ACL.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Redskins have not made an announcement about the latest details surrounding the rookie quarterback's injury.
Early Wednesday morning, Griffin tweeted: "Thank you for your prayers and support. I love God, my family, my team, the fans, & I love this game. See you guys next season."

Stand-up comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans will bring together a godless congregation in the Nave in St Paul's Road, Canonbury for services - with wedding ceremonies and funerals for non-believers even on the cards.
News of the church, which will meet on the first Sunday of every month starting with a service on the Feast of Epiphany on January 6, comes after the census results revealed last week that nearly one in three residents are atheists.
Mr Jones and Ms Evans, a musical improv comedian who had a BBC Radio 4 show called Showstopper, came up with the idea for The Sunday Assembly after agreeing they liked many aspects of religion but didn't believe in a god.
"We thought it would be a shame not to enjoy the good stuff about religion, like the sense of community, just because of a theological disagreement," said Mr Jones, who recently became the first person to sell out the Sydney Opera House by personally selling all tickets by hand.
He continued: "It's part atheist church and part foot-stomping show. There will be a speaker on a theme each month but there will also be an awesome house band, which Pippa will lead. We'll be helping people try and stick to their new year's resolutions in the first service."

Brad Pitt to Play Biblical Villain?

Brad Pitt is thought to be circling the title role in Warner Bros.' "Pontius Pilate" -- the story of the man who is said to have convicted Jesus Christ and authorized his crucifixion.
The 49-year-old actor is not yet confirmed in the role, but a deal could move quickly, according to a Deadline report. Yahoo! Movies reached out to Warner Bros. to confirm, but sources there had no comment and indicated the story is a rumor (though they did not deny it full stop).
Pontius Pilate is one of the most vilified figures in the Bible, but his villain status isn't a black and white issue -- likely a factor attracting Pitt to the role. "Troy" this is not, this would mark the first time Pitt would play a seemingly sinister lead character in a major studio period film.
Pilate was the governor of Judaea and was often torn between the leanings of the Roman Empire and the Sanhedrin Jewish council. Various historical sources portray Pilate in different ways: Some writings place more blame on Pilate for Jesus' death while others state he succumbed to political pressure, other sources even say he rescinded his decision to let Jesus die.
