Rapper, Earl Simmons, commonly known as DMX, has always maintained that he is a spiritual man but his life as a rapper never seemed to fit that image. The rapper has put the drugs, jail, and other aspects of the life of a rapper behind him and decided to get right with God.
In an interview with GlobalGrind, Simmons shared that he read the whole bible and is now a deacon at the church he used to go to, Morning Star.
DMX talked about the importance of being ready and willing to change saying,
“The biggest step is not in the studying, reading, but the warning to change the way you live. Wanting different things for yourself, and making that change because if you still want to drink and smoke, you could read as much as you want, that doesn’t mean you’re ready…I just find myself happy with the simple things. Appreciating the blessings God gave me. Enjoying my kids more – just changing.”
