The Q-Heem The Redeemed StoryA few weeks ago I was browsing Illspot a site for Holy Hip Hop. I decided to join in hopes of making new friends. What a surprise when I got a friend invite from QHeem aka QHeem the Redeemed. Well of course I accepted and we became instant friends. I had been pondering the idea of giving voice to my Holy Hip Hop family by sharing with our readers their amazing testimonies. Well, no time like the present. So I sent a request to QHeem to see if he would be interested in sharing his story with our readers. He was game and here we are. We began exchanging ideas about how to connect our two worlds and all those cities in between. We talked how could we allow the precious spirit of God to use us to convert non-believers. I began by checking out other sites that had info about his ministry.I must share with you that this has been an amazing journey for me and I hope that you will recognized the redemptive power of God thru the accounts of QHeem's life. QHeem is honest to share that he was into many things that the born again believer would frown upon. However, the love of Jesus and his shed blood opened a door for Qheem to crawl out of the pits of hell. The precious Spirit of God then filled his heart with a burden for the unsaved, and gave him the power to put it all into action. Hence, the ministry and movement of QHeem the Redeemed was birthed.Q-Heem was born on December 20, 1977 in Vallejo, CA to parents Cheryl and Eddie Edmonds III. His birth name is Quehemiah Edmonds. As Qheem shared the accounts of how he entered the rap industry, He was honest. His uncles had set aside a legacy in the drug business just for him. He would inherit the families' business just as the others before him had done. He didn't give the whole thing a second thought, but GOD had another plan for this young man. He was raised in a close nit community known as the country club crest. Home to some of the Bay Areas most influential rap artists. One of them the legendary MAC DRE(rip) . Mac Dre brought Qheem in and taught him the ropes. Mac-Dre was a very popular Bay Area rapper in the secular movement. QHeem got his start as a featured artist on the Rompalation in 1996. QHeem stayed affiliated with romp records (now known as THIZZ ENT) until 2001 when he came to Christ. This blood bought minister has truly one of the most powerful testimonies of redemption that I have ever had the privilege of hearing. QHeem went from Once Condemned to Finally Redeemed. After we talked for what seemed like hours; this man of Redemption shares the conversion accounts with us in his own words. In QHeem's own words, a real life account: I was working closely with Mac Dre and he was teaching me the ropes. My parents had gotten divorced when I was young and my mother remarried a man named Zacharias Richo . He truly became my dad and was good to us. My mom got saved first and my step dad followed shortly after. My mother and stepdad made me go to youth services and even though I was doing things that were not godly, the seeds were being planted. The time would come when I would have the opportunity to give the secular rap industry all I had. To make my impact on the world. However, my conscious would wrestle with me daily. The seeds of Jesus's goodness were beginning to sprout. I mean there were parts of me that wanted God to just leave alone. I wanted the spirit of God to let me be, to stop wooing me. I must admit that I was not aware of what was going on at the time. I was certain that I was loosing my mind. I would hear voices and try to get them out of my head. This continued gradually getting worse. I was certain that I was loosing my mind. One night the voices got so bad that I left home. It was about 4 o'clock in the morning and all I could do was drive as I tried to bargain with God. I had prayed for God to stop the voices but I still did not want to sell out..I did not want to give up on my dream. A world renown rapper, making big bread with lots of women and lots of drugs..That seemed like the life that everyone wanted and I had an opportunity to have it. It was mine for the taking. All I had to do was, just turn my back on God. Just walk completely away from what I had been taught when I was younger. As the voices got worse I knew God was not budging; he was not going to allow me to just walk away from him. I had been driving for what seemed like an eternity. I noticed the clock in the vehicle; it was 6 o'clock in the morning. My eyes seemed foggy as I finally yielded to the spirit of God. I could barely see in the distance what looked like a man opening the door to a church. I drove closer to be certain and yes the church was opened. I parked and discovered that this man was opening the church for prayer. Did I need prayer and lots of it. I went in and fell on the alter. The morning was the beginning of the rest of my life. God delivered me that morning from womanizing, drugs, alcohol and the lot.I had truly became a new creature. I was in for a treat because no one told me that most often after conversion a prideful spirit shows up. I began condemning everyone and of course everyone who was not saved was going to hell. I hid out for quite awhile, because I was in the middle of completing a big CD deal with Mac Dre. I was little uneasy about telling him that God had changed me and I could finish the CD. When I ran into him, he had mentioned that he thought I was in jail. I let him know that I was saved and he replied that he wish he could sell out to Christ like I had done. He (Mac Dre) gave me his blessing in a sort of way. I began to ministry thru Hip Hop on my own. It didn't take long before I met up with some guys and we began Hip Hop groupnamed LEXC(Living EXamples of Christ). This was the life ! I would often think to myself. I have Jesus, music, and a budding ministry. Soon one of the young men (Eclezy Positive) met the woman of his dreams and guess what happened to our group. Yep! You got it..it broke up. He was married now and had to focus on his new wife.I met this woman and I just knew she was the one. I put a lot of time and energy into the relationship but it ended painfully. The hurt and pain was enormous and I went back home. I couldn't seem to find peace any where. The enemy was lurking and waiting for just the right time. Before I knew it, I was drinking again and being dragged back down to pit which Jesus had pulled me from. I was so ashamed of my current state that I would drive hours and wear disguises to keep people from knowing that it was me. I would throw myself on the alter begging God to forgive me. To set me free. This struggle would go on for quite a while.Events would take place that would land me in jail for rape. Yep! I was sentenced to 2 years. I must admit that God was right there every step of the way. I entered the criminal justice system with God and exited after those two years a stronger more powerful Man (a Christian Man with Compassion). Upon release I was given what is known as High Risk Parole for 3 years. What that means is, I could not have any and I do mean any contact with Law Enforcement. I had to get UAs (drug and alcohol test) bi-monthly.I recalled being approached by a member of Law Enforcement several times while ministering thru Hip Hop. I was terrified because even though I wasn't doing anything wrong. The officers could have taken me in as a violation of the conditions of my release. The officers all decided to let me slide this time. That happened a total of 3 times. For more about the my experience in the criminal justice system check out my new book entitled "Stones".I had to realize that even though I was once CONDEMNED ,now I am FINALLY REDEEMED!Well here comes the glorious part. After I proved my faithfulness to God, He according to his gave me the desires of my heart. My beautiful wife Sarah and I have been married about two years and we share our love with our blended family which includes my two children ages 10 and 8, and her three children ages 19,21, and 24; lastly we have busy young man that's a toddler and we are expecting a new buddle of joy. Click on the above highlighted links for pics of his family. My ministry has taken off also. Some of the artist that I have worked with are K. Clark Sheard,Vickie Winans,Winans Phase 2, and John P. Kee. God quickly began to restore me as I allowed him to be Lord over my life. Some would say that I have become one of the bay's more popular Gospel rap artist. I have ministered with the best in the business such as Lacrae of (Cross Movement Records) Sevin, Minister RMB, Agerman, System, Jwhite, Lee Major, F.A.R, Spec, and kev beats.I guess it would be wrong to not tell you about the new work I got going on..shameless plug..the newest work is entited Body Langwish..the language of the Body Of Christ. A couple of joints on this album are 'Jehovah Dose(Act Bizerk part 3)'. Well if you haven't checked it out? Act Bizerk or the Remix.. Please do so He shows you how to do this in his Act Bizerk joint. It is a favorite with those young and old. The motivation for 'Act Bizerk' stems back to the better known HYFE movement. His new single will be Jehovah Dose look for it on I-tunes soon..This joint gives instructions on what to listen to.... and Christ Out Here. The song Christ out here - is one of the new works and is the example of answers to the world's problems ..it exposes the use of drugs and alcohol as anything but God's answer.Keep checking with us and we will have more information on the new album from Qheem The Redeem called 'Body Langwish'.Holy Hip Hop satisfies the longing for spoke word for listeners young and old. We applaud these ministers for keeping the music clean but powerful. Giving us (the listeners) the weapons to war with the sins that so easily beset us. These joints are upbeat and they bring the variety of the bay area right into your music players. Qheem's ministry has been designed to stir his listeners to take a stand for Jesus. He will often remind you to check the music that you are listening to. He reminds you to put action to your beliefs and let the world know that you belong to Jesus. Why? Why Not! Because this relationship is not about a closet relationship. It is not about hiding but it is all about coming out of the closet. It is an up and in your face type of movement..His music reminds us that we partied loud and hard before our conversion, now we sit in churches quiet as mice..with no praise for our Savior... Surely now, that we have so much to celebrate(Salvation) we should be showing, expressing the Joy of the Lord. So that those who have not yet accepted Jesus will see what they are really missing.FYI: Did you know that most Gospel Hip Hop or Holy Hip Hop as it is better known can be downloaded for free?
