#1. Thou shalt discipline thy offspring.

The question is not if you should discipline, but how you must administer it.

If you don't discipline you'll reap deep disappointment, destroy your kids' future, and destabilize the community by raising rascals. Don't be scared to discipline.

Correction is part of God's nature and a sacred command given to every parent.

#2. Thou shalt be consistent in thy discipline.

Discipline should not be moody and unpredictable.

What is wrong in the p

Intentional Disciplemaking

Diciplemaking in the local church is facing great challenges today. 21st century is characterized by the booming of personal technology; using of Internet and mobile phone is so widespread that many European countries are nearing 100% penetration; its influence in Asia is also in the uphill rise.

The total number of mobile phone subscribers has cruised north of 1.8 billion according to research released today by Informa Telecoms & Media. According to the

John 15:1-2 states "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Pruning forms an integral part of righteousness in Christianity. Many Christians yearn for a life of complete holiness but do not desire the pruning and conditions which come with a life of righteousness; having become embroiled in a kind of perceived self-rig

Read Psalm 98:1-9

"Let the mountains sing together for joy." Psalm 98:8 (NIV)

Weariness melted away as our group of twenty young adults entered the incredibly beautiful mountain valley that had been the goal of our two day hike. We gasped in awe as we gazed upon ribbons of waterfalls cascading down the sides of the closely surrounding mountains.

The long trail to this valley had been well marked, but difficult for young hikers carrying heavy packs. Crossing a rushing stream on a f

Matthew 6:5-6

5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. (NIV)

This passage is right at the beginning of Jesus' public ministry, as recorded by Matthew, and is part of what we call "The Sermon on the Mount" and the introduction to The Lord's Prayer. In Chapter Five Jesus is teaching on the old covenant, the law, versus the new cove

We look for compromise in order to accommodate differences because without that compromise we tend to have conflict and angst and everyone is worse off. This may be true in politics because politics are conducted between opponents who often have different ideologies and certainly different agendas. But what pertains in the secular world is anathema in the spiritual realm and all believers need to come to terms with that fact.

The basis of compromise is that no one person, o

Joseph was a great man and rose from the position of a slave to that of a prime minister. As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, "Lives of great people all remind us we can make our lives sublime; and, departing, leave behind us footprints in the sand of time." What footprints did Joseph leave? His story is told in Genesis Chapters 37-

"I'm just terrified that things are going to fall apart as soon as we leave counseling," Kate said fearfully. She sat near enough where I could see her wringing her delicate hands lightly. She was really anxious.

Her boyfriend, Dirk, a boyish looking man of about forty, sat stone cold and silent. If he had any reaction he wasn't showing it.
"What do you mean?" I asked Kate. "What are you so afraid of?"
"I'm afraid that things will just fall apart once we leave The Marriage Recovery Center,"

Discipline Your Mind

Discipline your mind; otherwise it will be out of control. You cannot just think whatever falls into your mind. You must take every thought captive into the obedience of Christ. What are your thoughts generally like? Do you just allow whatever comes to your mind and start believing it and then eventually feeling it?

Every minute we have about 38 thoughts. That means we have a different thought every 1.2 seconds. The average person has about 50,000 thoughts per day. What we cho

by Ngozi Nwoke Do you desire a change in your life or in that disturbing issue before you? Or are you wondering why you haven't seen a change since you prayed? The solution lies in continuous fervent prayer, which always brings about change. So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him was persistently made to God by the church (assembly) - Acts 12:5 (AMP) Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him

We may wonder why we need the Ten Commandments especially being that we are living in a dispensation of grace; but they were given to us so that we would live with integrity. We require structural wholeness to stand against forces that come against us so that what we say, think and do are one and the same thing; this way there will be no cracks in our lives. Without integrity, we collapse sooner or later. We therefore require a structural system to refer to and this is found

Everyone at times has to wait and the normal thing is to fidget, look at our watches, sometimes stamp our feet if we are waiting too long while standing, cross and re-cross our legs while sitting and sometimes we do the disadvantageous and decide to wait no longer.

But we are not all alike while waiting.

Reflecting the Image of Christ

by Toni Babcock

Does reflecting the likeness of Jesus solve all the challenges we face as Christian women? Not necessarily. Projecting Christ-likeness is no guarantee we will become a social magnet, or treated with respect in the world (quite the opposite is often the case), but there are positive steps we can take to avoid needless and destructive behaviors that mar the image of Christ in our lives.

It is important to remember God looks on the heart, but people are not God. They are looking

Wondering who the real god is? "How do we get to know the true God?"

Do not worry. You are not only one seeking the answer to these questions. Many people struggle daily with these issues.

However, we must never conclude that all religions worship the same god. Studies of the various religions prove that they are by no means doing so.

There is merit in thinking that the True God certainly wants to reveal Himself to the world. The cultures of today worship a god on basis of realizi

#Biblestudy Believe In Prayer

Our Bible tells us in Matthew, Chapter 21, Verse 22, " And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. We sometimes think we have the power to make things happen. Then we often find ourselves forgetting our gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ whom we send our prayers, if it is His will , is the one that makes all things happen.

When I and my family were stationed with the Air Force in Athens, Greece my wife came down with polio in 1958. The pol

Friends, are you struggling with hate, bitterness and revenge? Are you seeking justice towards those who have caused you tremendous pain and loss? Have you lost your peace and filled with sorrow and rage? You know to have to let go, but can't ... Do you forgive your enemies but cannot bless them? If your answer is "Yes" to some of them, or perhaps all of them, be assured, there are many who feel this way.

Our spirit wants to us to let go, but the flesh wants to hold on to bitter me

In this fallen world, pain enters everyone's life, so it's inevitable that you'll have to deal with pain. But if you respond to pain the way God hopes you will, pain will serve good purposes in your life.
You can get stuck in your pain if you deny it, numb yourself to it, or try to cope with it by

Whenever America experiences a large natural disaster or "act of God," in insurance company lingo - the inevitable question resurfaces in Christian circles: What is God angry about? What did we do?It's a popular topic every time a storm hits, especially if it hits where we don't live.

Usually, the apparent target of God's wrath is a particular situation or people group about which the person claiming clarity happens to feel very strongly ("It's the homosexual abortion doctor!
